Ew... Mold!

So as I checked my jars today I noticed some of my bud had mold. They've been in there for about 5 days and I just noticed today. I chucked all the moldy buds I found. What happens to the other bud that was in the same jar? I didn't see any mold on the buds but could they be contaminated just bc they were in the same jar? Do I need to throw them away too? Luckily it was only 2 jars and I've set them aside.

Never dealt with mold before, only like my 4th harvest though. This was my first time trying manifolding so the buds were bigger than what I'm used to. I probably should have broken them down more before jarring them. My humidity was around 55-60% temp around 70-75°. I checked daily and they never seemed too moist. Even took everything out to make sure insides weren't wet or sticking. Just learning as I go.

When I find mold on growing weed I cut it out and don't worry (too much) about the weed nearby. With mold in a jar I would be concerned about the weed that was in there with it. Tough call. Those moldy buds would pay for a few Caliber IV's though.

I personally would not use it, but that's just me. I'm super cautious, my nugs are never allowed to touch the ground!

You could do a Hydrogen Peroxide + Baking Soda wash and then use it for an extract to use in edibles. (The Clean bud, Not the mouldy bud)

Then again you could just say, nothing wrong with it I'm smoking it. Can you look under them at a microscope and make sure they're clean?

Always sad seeing that. You Iive and you learn. Get a hygrometer for your jars.

Yeah, that's my fault for procrastinating. I was considering getting a couple but I guess I learned the hard way. Still trying to get the curing process just right and the big buds threw me off.
Coldsmoke has a great thread called 'show me your drying set up', probably help a lot ?
-good luck!
