EXERCISE!

It has recently come to my attention that I'm slowly becoming a fat lard ass.

Can anyone suggest a good workout routine?

I'm not looking to make myself into a spartan..yet.

How about some general tips, e.g. if you're feeling hungry drink a glass of water.

I realise google could help but it'd be great to hear some advice from people who've been there and done that. :)

ya i was the same way. i love to hunt and love the woods so i go walk the woods about 4 time a week, and i ride my motorcycle at least 2 a week. that work out alone (riding) in the mud keeping yourself from going down.. do what you find is the funniest physicaly and do it more often...

man, honestly??

the best thing to do.. is eliminate drinking soda's.

drink Gatorade or Powerade instead.. a LOT less sugar.. and a lot less calories.

I've never really had a weight problem, but I think that's mainly because I'm an active person and my metabolism is really high.

Now that's not too say that I couldn't use the exercise.. but I'm 28 years old; 6'1"; and 185 pounds.. so I mean I'm not anywhere near being Obese or

over weight for that matter.

But yeah man, just try and cut out anything that contains caffeine; high amounts of sugars; high calories and high carbohydrates. Add that with

walking a mile or so.. every other day.. and you'll see results within the first month. You'll def. feel better about yourself for sure.

Good luck with everything buddy!
peace.

Running....is okay but kinda hard on the ankles........I myself ride a bike 10.5 miles 4-5 times a week.......I used to run 3 miles 5 times a week but started riding.......and found it easier on my body....and I started loosing weight in places that I couldn't get when running....now I smoke me a joint stretch and get riding.......it's a good stress reliever as well not to mention I am in pretty good shape...and I can eat whatever....but I still try to eat healthy....no sodas....no pastries unless it's thanksgiving and christmas...lol

Well I'm 29 years old 5'11" and about 150lbs. so I know nothing about obesity but yeah I have a high metabolism and I sweat my ass off every day at work. I do drink Dr. Pepper every day and eat red meat every day and my overall diet is for shit, I can start to feel the negative effects from diet so I would have to say veggies and fruits and plenty of water. And yeah, not to be a hypocrite but cut out sodas altogether if you can they are so bad but I love'em.

If this is not too basic, if you take in more calories than you burn off in a day, you will generally gain weight/fat. Take in less and you lose weight.

So best bet, depending on your weight figure out how many calories you should be consuming scroll down a little and fill it in: http://calculators.hpathy.com/calories-need.asp ). Shoot for no more than a few pounds of loss a month, because otherwise you really are facing gaining it all back and more because it is hard to keep up that kind of pace.

Then just be active. Walk around, don't park right next to building, instead of going out to eat at a chain restaurant drive a little further to a city so you can walk around before and after you eat.

And about once a week do something that taxes your muscles to the point you are sore the next day (not too sore though). What that means is that your muscles have been stressed and have lots of tiny little tears that your body needs to repair. And when it does it revs up your metabolism and your body becomes a furnace that eats tons of calories while it repairs itself. Like mygirls said something like riding a bike is something fun and great for this. Gardening works well too!

Damn I need to follow my own advice....

Simple tricks to burn more calories w/o trying:

Take the stairs instead of the elevator
Park at the end of the parking lot so you have to walk farther
Put a little (or a lot) of red pepper on everything you eat, learned that from a model
eat smaller portions more times a day and DON'T SKIP BREAKFAST. also do not eat w/i the four hours before you go to bed (this can be challenging, but is a real good rule to make)

I use to be real into weight lifting/fitness and have a pretty good knowledge of diets and routines, let me know if you want to learn more.

sorry for the three posts in a row, but i thought of one more thing.

if you do workout or only have a little amount of time to workout, do squats. this will tear down the biggest muscles in your body and will boost your metabolism and testosterone the most with one exercise. A lot of people walk right past the squat rack to the bench everyday, even athletes, but i promise you squats (and cleans) is the best lift you can do for yourself.

oh yeah, and stretch everyday, moderately unless you are warmed up. stretching is just good for your overall health, but don't over due it. stretching too far and improperly is a good way to jack yourself up.

It's easy to loose weight unless you have a medical condition preventing you.......the hard part is getting started.....but once you get going....there is no better feeling.....scientist have proved that metabolism doesnt slow down because of aging but from being inactive........I try to get as many as my friends to work out with me that I can.....which is a very difficult task.......I tell everyone I know you either have to exercise or diet.....if you want to loose weight........forget all those informercials selling all that bullsh*t.......just a waste of money....when everything you need is motivation

Watch the diet. I know its hard and all with the munchies, but just watch what your puting into your body. If you eliminate fried food and sodas, that can do wonders.
If you dont like running, trying biking or swiming. Swiming laps is a GREAT whole body workout, if you swam 4 days a week for a month youll notice incredible change.
Good luck

1. Start chain smoking cigarettes and pot. Any time you feel hungry or thirsty, reach for one of those instead.

2. Only eat or drink when you are so hungry or thirsty you can't possible smoke any more.

3. Except don't allow yourself to eat without smoking cigarettes and pot *during every meal* also.

Gives your lungs a proper workout...
