Lookin kick ass bro.Gonna be sweet when all finished.
Thanks man, I'm a hoping it's gonna be kick ass when it's done.

i believe that independent ventilation is going to solve your problems as well. I have my flower vent fans controlled by a thermostat(best price I found) I want to get another for my veg room but havent really needed it yet. I have a very strong tendency to go over board and it looks like you do too. I expect you to use some reflective material that will help prevent mold and what not. I would like to suggest a product like THIS I used a product called "Denshield" in my walls, painted the waterproofing on, then wrapped in b/w poly. I am in my basement as well and I think you should use a water tight barrier on your area first. This will allow you better control of temp & humidity. The product linked can be painted and will stick to virtually any surface. I am in construction and have used this product MANY MANY times and am very happy with it, on the job site and in my own home. I am not promoting either website, just USE these products myself and know that they perform up too and beyond what they advertise
I think you nailed it when you said I like to go overboard lol. I like to go big or go home but in all honesty I'm about to hit my limit on my budget. I'll be able to afford a new inline and possibly a scrubber but that's about it. Thanks for the links and I'll be sure to keep them in mind.

Check y'all later, gotta get back to work.

Figure out your cubic feet....lenght x width x height ....you'll need to push a little more than your cubic feet for some negative air pressure in the room....just a noob here, but I have been researching the forums here, so, the pro's can correct me if I'm wrong.....

Break time. Yeah after rethinking my strategy with the helpful suggestions of others of course. My flower room is roughly 300 sq ft and I have a 530 CFM Inline fan so I think I'm covered in the flower room. I'm looking a 8" inline on eBay rated at 762 CFM to exhaust my entire grow space.

Ahh break time over gotta get back at it.

Keep in mind that this vortex fan will move about 500cfm once a duct is hooked up to it ;)
One more thing, if you plan to go sealed in the future be mindful of the type of building materials as well as the type of paint you use in your grow space. You want to avoid materials that can offgass and negatively affect your plants ;)
Ha, if someone had told me this a couple years ago I could have avoided one solid year of failed grows ;)

Things are coming along nicely for you, I like that you are separating your venting!

Yeah this is all gonna be some trial and error for a little bit. Don't have too much money left to spend and that's the biggest fan I can find in my price range. I already had most of the equipment from my previous grow room and I've spent around 600 for materials and a couple new pieces of grow equipment.

If I can just get manage to get a successful grow out of what I got to work with (which I'm pretty sure I can) I'll be good to do some major upgrading for the next round. If y'all know of a bigger fan be sure to let me know and I'll check it out.

I got the doors built today and I'm gonna instal em and trim em out with 1x4's tomorrow. Then I'm gonna try to get it all painted by Saturday or Sunday but that may be a problem with college football starting this weekend. I might just have to chill for a bit.:eyesmoke:

I'll throw up some new pics tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone for your input and support.

I had a similar setup with only one 600w and i found the best way was to bring all the air in through the veg room and into the flower room passively. Run one fan on a scrubber in the flower room and one fan pushing through the vented hoods.
For you make the vented hoods intake from your laundry and exit to your living space, should be pretty short duct runs, closed system = no smell transfer.

Thanks man I'm taking that all into consideration.

I finally got all the rooms built but I still got a little trimming to do because I ran out of 1 x 4's but that's just cosmetics and it can wait until I make it back to Lowes. Tomorrow I'll be cleaning it all out from top to bottom and applying my first coat of flat white paint. I'm hoping I can get by with just one coat but I'll paint it twice if I need to. After that It's all down to installing the ventilation and the lighting. I bought quite a bit a duct work the other day and it'll mostly be all straight pipe and elbows.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel fellas and it wont be long now. I'm thinking I'll have it finished by Sunday at the latest. I'm still waiting on the new 8" inline exhaust 762 CFM to arrive but it should be here by tomorrow.

Enough talk, here's some pics.

Thanks for riding along.

Peace.

is there any way to access the veg room without going through the flower room? this may become a pain in the ass.

Unfortunately, no. Yeah it kinda sucks but I got to work with what I got. I figure if I leave just enough space I'll be able squeeze in and out with little to no problems. That's why I had to build a middle room so I could use it to access both rooms with out having to squeeze through a bunch of plants to get to the veg area.

Another update in a day or two.

yeah i noticed that. good idea, you can use it to make sure there is no light leaking between the two rooms which would be my biggest concern. nice design and follow through. i cant wait to see what you grow in there. :)

Its looking really good man!
you might be able to get away with one coat of paint but be sure to use a good primer first, I always do two coats on top of the primer that way any water from misting plants or watering is less likely to cause marks or damage.
Remember its really important for 12 hours of complete darkeness when flowering, hopefully youll be able to check the plants when both are on so its easy, otherwise a couple green light bulbs will help you get through the flower room.

Sorry there hasn't been updates lately guy's. I've just been so busy here lately. I got the rooms painted, two coats but no primer. I got most of the duct work done and I should be installing lights tomorrow. Doors are sealed pretty good with minimal light leaks and I plan on using some expanding spray foam to knock out the rest of leaks when everything else is done. I'll have some pics up in a day or two for sure, possibly tomorrow.

Peace.

Okay guys I ran into a little trouble. I bought a new 8" inline fan a two 8 to 6 inch reducers. When I put the reducers on the fan I have a little play, like an 1/8 of an inch play between the fan collar and the reducer. I thought about just using duct tape to join the two together but that seems a little (no offense intended) ghetto to me. Can anyone think of another solution to my problem?

Edit:

Never mind I figured it out. I went and got some 3/16" foam tape and then zip tied the reducer on to the fan. It's fitting pretty snug now.

Good call foam tape is the best, it helps stop vibrations from the fan too! I like the large aviation/ hose clamps, but they can be hard to find in 8" dia.
Take your time and work and get it right and show us the final product, thats what matters!

Alright guys, it's been a long time in the making but I'm finally finished. Veg room is staying a cool 74 - 75 degrees and the flower room is staying 83 to 85*. kinda strange because it sure don't feel that warm when I walk in. If need be I'll I'll buy another fan and scrubber to knock the temps down a little. If anybody's interested I'll throw a link up later when I start my new grow thread.

Here's some pics.

Peace and happy medicating.

I was growing in a 3X3 closet for a long time so this is definitely an upgrade for me. I'm glad I started out in a small space though because it really helped me to learn the ins and the outs of growing and what it took to properly ventilate my closet. Believe me when I say I went through a lot of trial and error with that setup and it has definitely helped me with setting this one up.

I plan on starting out slow with maybe five to six plants and then work my up if space permits. I got some fem pineapple express, Burmese Kush, Kushage and a NL automatic germinating right now so it'll be at least another month before I put anything in the flower room.

Yeah a buddy of mine (best friend) helped me paint and he's the one who made the mess. I can't complain though, cheap labor is hard to find. He's the only one that knows about my setup. He's totally trustworthy and he knows that loose lips sink ships and if he want's to keep receiving free sacks he'll keep his mouth shut.

Check y'all later.

Awesome setup man, it really came together nicely. I like all the straight pipe & elbows, so much more efficient, that will help keep your temps nice and cool.
