okey so i have a room with two tents in it. one 5x5x6 and a 4x4x6 conected with a T to my exhaust fan to carbon filter in witch is in a box that i made with a 6" outlet tube that gose right up to the ac intake. now is that ok or is it bad. in my opinion the room is vented well so my co2 for my plant is good. but i will try and have pics of my set up soon. i just had to put that ac in to save the kids from the 100deg and 97deg temp that my light were generating. but dont worrie i got it down to 78 deg and they are happy now

It sounds like you've got your carbon filter hooked up a little funky.

Tent #1-----T-----Tent #2

( ) Carbon Filter

( ) Inline Fan
|
( ) AC Unit
|
| ----> Exhaust

Is that how it's set up? It sounds like your using your AC Unit's intake power to pull air through the carbon scrubber filter. Which could be bad b/c most AC units are designed to intake air without obstruction. Depending on how much CFM your AC Unit intakes; depends on how much speed of a booster fan that you'll need to help the air being pushed into the AC Unit's intake hose. My AC unit puts off around 265 CFM of Exhaust & respectively intake as well; So if I were to hook up my SCRUBBER/FILTER>INLINEFAN>ACUNIT>EXHAUST OUTSIDE, in that order I would want the Inline fan to have a minimum of 265CFM of power to assist the AC Unit's CFM intake. It sounds like you are asking if your AC unit's intake system will be overloaded drawing air in from the carbon filter without assistance.

THIS IS THE BOX THAT I MADE U CAN SEE THE FAN (GREEN) THEN THE CARBON FILTER IS UNER NEATH IT AND THEMN THE OUT LET IS IN THE LID AND THAT GO RIGHT INTO THE FRONT OF THE AC. THE GETS FOCRED OUT OF THE BOX THROUGHT THE 6" HOSE INTO THE A/C UNIT

AND HER IS A PIC OF MY VEG TENT WITH MY BABYS AND MOMMY IN FRONT AND THE FAN.

THIS IS THE 4 THAT I JUST PUT INTO FLOWERING THE 5X5 TENT. I JUST REPACED THE LITTLE TOWER FAN FOR A 42" TALL ONE THAT SITS IN THE CORNER

ALSO I THOUGHT I WOULD ADD THIS ONE ALSO ITS MY AUTO WATERING SYSTEM WITH ITS DIGIY TIMER BEHIND IT.

OK NOW FEEL FREE TO GIVE ME HIT AND TIPS BUT PLZ DONT BASH ON ME IAM STILL NEW AND TRYING TO FIGURE STUFF OFF

Aww man; The RUI community is much better than a lot of BS forums; I'd say 90% of threads don't have a negative thing said about anyone. We're all postmokers too, so we all get along and never cause trouble. :joint:

Cool; I think that's a great method of air ventilation. The only concern being the AC unit getting overworked suckin air in; unless it had some assistance.
What is your portable AC BTU rating and CFM output? and what is your inline fan's CFM output?

Reason I ask is that I don't think it would hurt your ac unit very much at all to have a higher cfm being forced into it; it might put it into overdrive like a turbo on a car; hehe,

The only condition that I would think it could work is if the inline fan is synchronized to turn on at the same time the AC Unit began working. I've looked into how to automate that, and it should be done simple with a product called "Duct Stat". Made by a company called Suncourt.

So what's your AC Unit's/Inline fan's in/out CFM? I'll be back on tonight, i'm off to Harry Potter!!!

ok yes thats just how i have it it gose through the box and when it come out of the box i have the 6" hose zip tied to the front of the ac unit. and i have a window ac unit that is 5,000btu. bc my room that my tents are in is 10X9. my exhuast fan is 309cfm. but iam going to get a new one rated at 440cfm and use my 309cfm fan to cool of my 1000w hps. and i will try and get pics of the way the ac unit is here in a day or two

Sweet, good job bro. I finally have gotten my own place, and I have began living the only life long dream i can remember. I heard window units wouldn't work, but i was kinda wondering 'how' they wouldn't. I think i'm gonna buy the new 700W LED light soon. I just finished watching the new Harry Potter film and it was nice. You've got to make sure the inline fan turns on at the same time that the AC unit, or your AC unit might get overworked and malfunction. Well i'm off to bed; yall have a nice night.
