Hi

So i just got done with my first harvest in 2 x 5 gallon buckets.

I have now 3x 11 gallon buckets 2 will be for growing in, and the third will be acting like a res.
I will connect chiller i got for a good bargain. I just have two issue i need help with.

1. Since am increasing the volume water, i don't think my air pump will cover the volume of water. So how do you figure out how much to upgrade your air-pump and air stones?

2. If i want to future proof this a bit and add a "top-of-res". Do i need to cut that nutrient down for the extra res?
lets say i would add fourth 20 gallon res. This is connected with a top of unit. For my main res so the nuts should be let say 1/4 strength right?

Thanks :bigjoint:

I always figure a minimum of 10 watts per site or generally 10 liters of air per min per site but I always like more. I get sweet water air stones the ones I use are as30l. My rdwc room uses a 55 gal res and it’s mixed to whatever I’m running because it’s recirculating so it’s always churning from totes around back to the res. Personally I would say use only one res keep things simple. I can’t say much on the chiller I don’t need them my water stay at 68-70 degrees on its own.

How big is the pump you have? Most already have more than needed...IMO 1 lpm air /1 gal of water is good.

Might want to start with straight water, PH corrected in the top off res at first. It can get out of hand quick if too strong.
