some people use 12/56/12 for flowering
if i use 3/12/3 who will get the best results:?:

Also  can i use the 3/12/3 and use three times the amount to make it more like 12/56/12?:wall:

Oh, and if i have to start at 1/4 str on the 12/56/12 can i just use full str on the 3/12/3:?:

Just use the 3-12-3. If you triple the recommended amount you are going to burn the crap out of your plants.

if you mix these correctly, there should be little difference
the amounts added to water will differ, but in either case, you should be shooting for the same strength nute solution in the end

let's say the correct amount for your 3/12/3 was 1 tsp per gallon - i don't know what the actual amount is off hand - just take this as the 'optimum' for mj
then you would want to use 1/4 tsp of the 12/56/12 to one gallon of water - it will be similar strength nute solution in both cases

if you use the same amount of 12/56/12 as 3/12/3 - well then you are asking for a burnt plant

what is the 'optimum' for mj flower and veg. why do some people use such high npk value if they have to delute it

for optimum, the dose is specified in the nute mixing directions
real high npk numbers mean the nutes are very concentrated - but that just means a little goes a long ways
for chemical fertilizers, the npk proportion is the issue
it gets confusing because often there various products quoted with certain npk numbers, and the conversations on them can get muddled
i use organics, much safer with respect to plant burn

oh ok so for 3/12/3 i would use 1stp for 1gal but for 12/56/12 i would only use 1/4 tsp and it would equal the same for the plant?

Follow the directions and start out slow...like 1/4 strength and work your way up. You are overthinking this.

ok let me ask this. if i use 1/3/1 once a week or i use 1/56/1 once a week both at full str which one is better for budding?

which one would you buy 3/12/3 or 12/56/12 to get the most bud?... using fulll str
these are both npk ratios for a flowering nute, don't want to veg with this
i would go with the 3/12/3, the other seems to have a little too much phosphorous - though some would argue against that

1/56/1 is a proportion that's not good for anything - if that is the only nute being used - almost all phosphorus - flowering need low nitrogen(the n in the npk), high phosphorous(the p), and high potassium(the k)
