I've never heard of a lamp type causing the plants to require more of a specific element.

In coco you definitely need to add Cal-Mag unless the rest of your nutrients make up for it (most don't use any Ca at all though, as it causes other synthetic nutrients to precipitate and fall out of suspension, meaning they aren't available to the plants).

I read a lot of crap surrounding LEDs too. The info is often peddled by the manufacturers themselves, then pushed, magnified, promoted and even fabricated by the inexperienced growers using them who don't know a lick about lighting, spectrum or even electricity.
That's why I'm glad this community exists. There are a lot of experienced people here to help cut through the shit. Many of your posts in particular have been very helpful to me in my grow. Even before I was a member

As long as temps are good - 80° leaf temp or better for transpiration and uptake that would be the only reason. Reduced mobility of cal and mag ( less heat ) which usually comes older blurple panels and such. Thats why its suggested to raise leaf temps to keep things moving.

But most of the issues can be resolved thru feed and water sources.

I'm new to using LED and read about that as well. I'm growing in coco and only give the normal recommended dose and haven't had issues. Buffering the coco is more important. Don't skimp on the CalMag but don't think you need to double down on it. I think you can also foliar feed CalMag if you really need to instead of throwing off your nute mix.
