Extra Lights: Yield vs Simplicity

I have a Pro 200 coming, some seeds from bags and a desire to do this simply. But I've read that without additional lights the best the AG will do is a couple grams per plant. If that is true it raises a question whether the whole thing is worthwhile. I know a lot of things determine yield, but is it true the AG is fundamentally incapable of better than that with just its own lights?

if you do like one plant, the AG lights will work through out the grow, its worth the extra lights
