What, you don't think HPS companies aren't dropping their pants to keep these moving? Isn't that how you hang onto a market to the bitter end? Gavita is bailing, doesn't that tell you anything?

I feel ya, I'm not downing you. I just don't understand how this word is going to get out when no one knows about it. The commercial industry doesn't know what a quantum board is and they don't know what a cob light is.
If its really 30% bigger yields then a DE HPS then someone needs to pitch to these guys. Because your talking 4-5 pounds per 25 square feet with what you just said. They are setting up shop all over here in northern California and its DE's everywhere. Someone needs to talk to theses guys if your serious and can vouch for those numbers.

They're realizing it because Gavita will no longer be buying their bulbs, and I'll bet they've worked on development with Gavita.

Here is a big point I think amongofrog is missing ....... HORTILUX IS RELEASING AN LED NEXT MONTH..........HMMMM IF IT ISN'T AS GOOD AS HID, THEN WHY WOULD THE MOST WELL KNOWN GROW BULB PRODUCER COME OUT WITH AN LED? UNLESSSSSSSSS............

thanks..i can make better than that and 600w for around 600 usd
I can also build lights better than that except for being waterproof.

for leds the illumitek is actually old high end led tech.

remember the BML spyder ?
BML horticulture was formed by engineers that split off of illumitek.
BML horticulture rebranded themselves as Fluence.
so for the latest led tech look at Fluences Vypr.

can you build better than a Vypr ?

Im not missing nothing. I read your OP. I have LED's. I don't use them right now. You started this mess pages back, and all I did was join the conversation on the side of HPS as where I thought you were wrong.

No, you got defensive and called me a liar because I pointed out the FACT that HID is not suited for vertical farming. Why would Phillips ( the maker of the beloved best DE HPS bulb) spend a dime on led if it sucks? Well they have Horticulture specific LEDs. What a bunch of idiots over at Phillips huh......

Also who said anything about sides?

You did post #5. You started talking about how much you know of the industry and how and where its headed. You've said countless amount of times about LED is the future of commercial cannabis farming.
The exact same thing was said 12 years ago. Yes, it has come a super long ways since then. GG proved to us that LED is as good as or better then HPS. We knew this years ago dude.
Most out fits right now are spending money on 315's and DE's.
I mean some of theses guys are getting set ups for 210.00 a set up. You should see theses pallet orders it would blow most people away. These people are obviously thrilled spending the 200 bucks and knocking out 1 3/4 off 500 watts.
I know your product does the same thing or more. There is a new grow journal here that a lot of people are watching where a great gardener is 4x4ing with your 550. Its very exciting watching what happens. If he does what his goals are it will be the greatest grow of all time. Im just hoping its a single harvest. The data would be huge.

if not cobs..thenlooks like only 12 diodes per bar..?
I believe those are a proprietary pcb setup. They look pretty sweet.

I honestly have to agree with @Greengenes707 after seeing where this thread has gone. Do any of you fuckers even grow cannabis? Especially you Vendor pissing match mother fuckers!!
If you want to move led forward, show us what it is doing for you in your garden and stop turning everything into "this is better than that". We all know there are multiple ways to do things so show how good your led is doing so those unfamiliar can take away the data they need to make decisions for themselves on what is right for their own garden.

...All the guys that don't think Cannabis production is heading in that direction are in for a rude awakening. Some of these systems I've been shown are very well thought out and make very good use of commercial warehouse space. A couple of them have secured over 100 million in round 2 funding...... A lot can be done with that kinda money.
just curious, is this is one of the vertical rack systems you're talking about by any chance?

Have you ever used a First Gen Philips Green Power Module?

There comes a point where you're just talking to a wall. Let this guy play stupid games and win stupid prizes. The rest of us will point and laugh at his ignorance while we grow with our evil LED tech.

Back then the fact is they didn't produce the efficacy equal to HPS..... Today LEDs do produce more photons per watt. Not by a huge margin though. The fact that you can generate more photons per watt, no bulb changes, ultility rebates, and have a savings on HVAC up front and residual costs does place some LEDs in an actual economic advantage. That's why you see commercial facilities with investors going led and those with lower start-up funding going HID still. It's a Sprint vs a Marathon. The thing that is ever evolving is how long it takes to see the ROI(it's of course getting shorter). Some ultility companies are giving rebates as high as $400 per fixture.

No ones calling me on nothing but you and ttystik. You don't even grow, so I'm not sure where all your experience comes from. Couple months ago you were telling everyone how much of a noob grower you were and now your the king of the hill. Your so caught up on lighting, your not even learning how to grow.
Do you even own a LED man? You must right?
King of the Hill? Do try to find any examples of me fluffing myself. I've never claimed to be anything I'm not. Noob grower? Hell yes. But not a blind grower.
