The rope screen took me about 10- 15 minutes to weave, I couldnt find chicken wire in this metropolis i live in...guess nobody keeps chickens here, and the only other wire i couild find was too small. Chicken wire can also cause damage to the stems if you pull them thru roughly etc etc rope is nice and soft ..u could use HEMP ROPE hehehehe... anyway a picture of the screen filled up...U can see what i mean by you can stretch the screen somewhat to fit the buds thru to ur hand thru with the can standing there...:)

i think this pic was day 33 veg... 2 days before i put it into flower... I will have a full post humous grow log soon. Those are 105w CFLS in the pictures i have 3 of them in my tent :)

Dude, Not doubting you on LST'ing, done it before in the SUN... works great... using CFLS this grow... scrog seems to work better cos you can get the light evenly across a somewhat FLAT canopy allowing even light distritbution to all the budsites above the screen, you can also allow buds to be spaced sufficiently so leaves and such dun shadow any other bud... and also i grow to kill time as well as the rewards of harvest, so yeah..time consuming YES... but also very rewarding when u see a full screen of buds... :) I do a lot of things to kill time , Herps, Reef Tank, Ferret, etc etc etc
guess i get bored easily :)

ha no doubt. i go crazy too but that just seems like something my pocket doesn't need to afford rightnow (additional lights seems more efficient). just built a 2 level 5'3" x 31" gr. the floor level has a hieght of 47" and the upper 35" all cfl. i feel like cfls are so weak so i just go nuts here's the first level for curiousity sakes

i unfortunately have less space than you...i run a DIY grow tent approx 55cm x 65cm x 140cm, its on my balcony etc ... can only have like 1 plant at a time..must maximise yield from space etc etc :)

Throw some mylar or bright white visqueen or something similar on the walls.

That paint on the wall doesn't look too reflective and with a few CFL's you're going to need all the light you can get.

it's better because it's waay less work
i guess putting up a screen is too hard for you??
you would rather tie and retie every branch down?
that seems like more work than putting up a screen IMO
but one is certainly not better than the other...theyre the same thing

It was a lot of work! But not too bad. I saw this example a week ago and liked this idea better than chicken wire and decided this was the design for me! I went to home depot and picked up all the supplies for around $15. I picked up the blue "light duty" trim line instead of the Orange colored trim line because the "light duty" trim line is smooth versus the rigid orange line and chicken wire. I figure its more plant friendly! Not to forget the nice color contrast :) My screen is 5 feet by 3 feet. I didn’t use eyelets though. I just drilled holes through all the sides and weaved the line through like a basket which worked well for me! I just used some staples and a couple knots here and there to secure everything. Love this design and I defiantly recommend it for people looking into SCROG or SOG. Although it takes a bit of work if you’re passionate about your plants and handy with tools it shouldn’t be a problem. MJ doesn’t deserve to be grown by lazy people just going with the easiest and cheapest way to grow and not willing to spend time researching growing methods. Invest money, time, and love and it will show in the end! This SCROG design should hold up for years if built correctly! THANKS 4maggio!

High everyone..

I do not know why but I didn't recieve any notifications
of responses (or maybe the spamy jammy ate them) to this thread..
Untill yours ross..

Thank you for your ideas and comments.

I still use the orange WW string... and still weave the screen with it.
yes, it is more work than chicken wire but not using wire cutters at
harvest time, is worth it.
SOG works but using DWC in a box, doesn't give me enough room (to my likeing) to get around the plants completely.. easily.
Both SOG & SCROG will accomplish similar results.
