I have been experimenting with various hydro methods for several years
Here's one so simple anyone can do it
And you save $$$ on nutrients
I am on my 2.0 small scale version, ~ 14 days from first pistils
Imagine the next level
2 x4+ tray/table/s (think air hockey table )
Instead of simple bubble, recirculating 24/7, while simultaneously blasting bottom of net pots/air pots with a bizillion air bubbles
The key being large pump (or multiple small 9L+ pumps (very quiet) + multiple large air stones dispersed for maximum bubbles under each netpot/Air Pot
Vessel is a Coleman Party Starter cooler that holds 24 cans. Being shallow, it's an ideal vessel. It can be used to start young plants/clones, but also to grow a single plant to harvest, as I am doing now
Air Pump 4 head > 9 lpm + 4 large Oxystone Cylinders or 4-6" round air stone discs.
Multiples of these are very quiet where large pumps are very noisy and hot
Doubling up would be even better, at least to make sure 6- 8 @ 1 liter APs are getting plenty of highly oxygenated nutrients
Now flowering a single plant with 4 stones directly under the net pot
Egg Crate Light Diffuser This is the key. It consists of hundreds of ~ 1/2" x 1/2" squares. I cut to fit and cut out 4 squares on the end to accommodate the air tubing (pic below)
The stone cylinders are laid on there side, leaving ~ 2" space below the grate. I overfill the nutes by ~ 2"
Air Pots &/or Net Pot lids 1 liter APs were used to grow rooted clones. Easily holds 6 APs. For growing a single plant, I drop the1 liter AP into a Net Pot lid and place the Net Pot onto the grate
The net pot lid helps block the light, minimizing algae. Not a big deal, as I change nutes and clean cooler/grate and air stones weekly. I find nutes go stale, which causes plant growth to slow
Here's a couple pics
I am now seeing pistils on this Med-Man Silver Skunk BX1
Just changed nutes today @ ~ 800 ppm
Only uses about 2 gallons a week, including daily top offs, which now are ~ 1-2 quarts per day
