Fan leaves only have 3 leaves per fan

My plant is starting to grow 3 leaves on a fan leaf instead of 5 or more. What causes this?

is it a fem seed? I got some with only 1 leaf so dont worry.

I have a Skink #1 that had 5 leaves as a clone then as I grew it it went to 3 then to 1. Im new so I probably screwed something up. Its still growing and budding so I guess its fine.

Dont know, got it from a bag.
