Fan or ballast?

I would buy the stuff separate. Look for close out deals and sale items.

Oversize the filter. I run a 8 inch filter on a 4 inch fan. The bigger the filter the better it works and the longer it lasts.
Depending on where you live and if you can take the time craigslist can be golden.

Thats a good idea but i cant afford 2 fans at this moment so ill go for the big fan upgrade and see how this goes. I plan to upgrade the ballast in the future too or possibly go LED but that probly wont be till the end of next year

Using the one fan for both exhaust and going the light will work too.

Wheres here?
KY.

You will be better off buying the stuff separate. Look for sale items. Amazon has great deals. You can get an ipower or ventec fan and filter combo for around 100 bucks. A good 600 watt hid kit with air cooled hood and digital ballast can be bought for a couple hundred. A good tent for a hundred or two.

Buy what you need now. I've been running a ventec fan for years. I have a 8 inch ipower filter that's been running for a year or so. I buy the carbon bulk and refill my filters.

If you can link me to all these seperate parts for sale then id gladly look into it i just wanted a complete kit bcoz itll save me extra cash on having multiple packages coming from other countries costing a fortune in shipping. I stay somewhere in N Zealand which seems to always cost a heap to ship to. At the moment my budgets maximum is $850 NZD = $609 USD and that includes payments for shipping. To get that kit sent from Australia to here itll cost me $300 NZD so that leaves me with $550 NZD = $394 USD.

Correct me if i am wrong but i doubt it ill find all the necessary parts separately for under that budget

Shipping is a killer when a lot of the equipment is coming from other side of the planet.

Tell me about it haha thats the whole reason a complete kit is easiest and cheapest option fir me and i realy cant be bothered messing arou d with cupboards or home made grow boxes again. Tried that and although it worked it took alot of effort and a tent is just way simpler to get
