Fan question, PC fan

Right now I'm leaning towards a 5 ft x 2 ft x 1 ft cabinet, with a 150 hps. Hopefully with two plants, but maybe only one if that's all that would fit. Anyway, would a PC fan near the top be enough to keep it cool? It is tall and skinny and 10 cubed ft, so I hope with intake at the bottom and exhaust at top, such a small fan could work. Maybe an additional small fan at the bottom facing up to blow air up and through the plants?

And how do I actually attach the fan? Can I just make a hole and fit it in there, or as I'd guess I need some kind of ducting? If so, what kind of ducting?

Thanks for helping a noob

Should be enough. I think PC fans are usually around 100CFM. Thats 100 cubic feet per minute. Make a small hole at the bottom of the box too, to bring in cool, fresh air. And, yea, just attach it to the top with the airflow going out of the box.

thanks dude for quick reply. What about number of plants? do you think I could fit at least two in there? Maybe grow one a little above the other so they don't grow into eachother too much?

Stacking them like that would probably make the lower one produce much less. Even if you kinda staggered them, I think it would reduce the overall lumens of light that the plant receives quite a bit.

For such a small footprint, I would just try one plant, and install a chickenwire or string net to make it a SCROG (Screen of Green - see GrowFAQs). Then maybe top the plant when its around 5-10 nodes tall so you get more than one main cola. Then just give it lots of care and you should get a better yield than you would with 2 in there.

Yeah I'm definitely thinking SCROG at some point. My first grow will probably be just straight up. I want to see an uninterrupted plant, in all it's glory.
