Fast Buds GSC

Been away from growing for a while, just going for a quick personal stash with a whole different setup than I used a few years back. Just put 2 Fast Buds Auto GSC's in rw cubes 3 days ago and they popped and are just about out looking for some light. I have a 36"x20"x60" grow tent and a 600 watt LED. I'm hoping it'll be enough light but I still have my trusty 250 HPS ballast running CMH just in case.
I'm gonna go with 3 gallon mesh pots filled 2/3 coco, 1/3 perlite promix and an inch or so of play sand to try and keep the gnats away. I had some really good grows with coco but the damn gnats...lol. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated..

One question, I have seen on here that Autos should be planted in the container they will stay in until harvest. So, should I put the rw starter cubes in my 3 gallon pots once they have a set of primary leaves or roots showing at the base of the cube?

Hmm.. no suggestions. Well I think I may lose the one on the left, they both did a loop trying to make their way out of the rw cube so I spread the cube a little and the left one looks like it may be giving up. Guess I'll wait and see..

Your cubes look too wet. Coco hardly stays wet and with no living organisms in it at all, it's not what gave you gnats. If you planned on going to 3 gals of coco and knew beforehand they liked to go to final pot, why start them in too wet cubes? In short, start over with new seeds directly in coco. Good luck.

I didn't plan on going right to the final pot, just something I saw here about auto's after I had already started them in the "starter" cubes. This is my first grow in a while and first auto so when I asked, a few days in, I guess it sounded like a newb question and that's why the question went unanswered.
Thanks for the reply..

sorry i can't help you out... I have never used rockwool. I started my latest autos in peat pellets. I feel like rockwool is too dense to start seeds in but i am sure people do it all the time.

This seedling hasn't changed much (if at all) since I moved it a week ago to the 3 gal pot. It doesn't look dead but... (fyi: the cube looks pretty wet bc I just misted)

Autos like unobstructed mediums or plugs - i either drop seed in solo first to grow a plug of soil for transplant or directly into pot.

looks like auto is not happy with RW. You “ could “
( carefully ) split cube open enough to free the seedling and gently place in a starter mix of medium.

Thanks, first auto. Guess it'd be worth a shot.
The seedling was a lost cause after all, but I had another that I had just popped (in r/w) a couple days before your reply and I gently removed it from the cube the same day and planted in the 3 gal smart pot. Happy to say it is doing fine.
Thanks again.

Nice to see someone else running GSC from FBs. I've ran this strain for the past 18 months. Harvested about a dozen or so girls and usually get about 1.5 oz per plant. I'm only using x2 300W LED burples, but this strain is a very tough strain and produces well everytime!! Solid choice!
Thanks, I checked out your posts for the first GSC grow, biggest difference I think may be the medium, I am using 3 gallon mesh pots filled 2/3 coco, 1/3 perlite promix and feed daily, feedings were about 20 oz. but the pot felt a little lighter today so I upped it to 32 oz. and will adjust as needed. Going to feed her with Mega Crop only, start to finish. Lights are 20/4 one 600 watt (148 actual) LED. (Xvelance from Amazon).

I don't see any issues with these so far, but I'll say this. I don't like smart/mesh bags because coco already dries oit fast. Thats why you can water multiple times a day and not drown them like soils. Thise pots will make them dry out even faster. When the coco dries out it builds up salts and can throw your ph off and block nutrients from being absorbed. 3 gal is ok i guess, but i feel 2 gal is all you really need for a coco plant. Just google coco 2 liter hempys and see 4-6 oz plants. I would water them 2x a day. Don't worry about too much nutes or drowning. Just feed every 12 hoirs till you see a bit coming out of the bottom and thats good. Yes it uses a bit more nutes, but the plants in the end will more than make up for it. You also need cal mag for coco and led lights. MC has some in it but i still add more. 2 ml per gal every time i mix a jug of nutes beginning to end. In coco 5.8 to 6.0 is where i stay. After my cal mag and MC my water is right on at 6.0(yay for me XD).

Thanks for the look-in Matt, I'll be picking up some calmag in the next couple days. I used a bit more water/nutes today until I got some run-off, I have the MC at 380 ppm and will bump it up again when the bucket I have mixed is done tomorrow or the next day. I've been trying to LST but with the plant so short it's been more of a pin and release, I pinned it one way for a couple days, released it for a couple days.. etc. starting to get there now.

28 days, looks like the LST is gonna give 4 mains, it's still only about 6" tall but from what I've seen here that should be changing in the next week or so. Got some cal-mag coming today and will be bumping the nutes up next feeding. P1030706.JPG

I grow in half M3 super soil, half roots organic original, and some perlite for flavor. Plant directly into pots. This year I ran 5 gallon pots and Im really glad I did. Only had to water every 4 days. All my strains are fast buds. They got WAY bigger than last year in 3 gallon pots. I did upgrade from a 1000w single end HPS to 1000w double end MH for veg and HPS for flower so Im sure the bigger size is a combination of both pot size and light.

When you say your running a 600w led, how many watts does it actually pull from the wall? You should be putting 200-300 real watts into a space that size.

Actual watts according to the specs are 148 watts (running both bloom and veg), I will probably add another of the same for the next grow. Since this is just a single plant I hope it will do for this grow.
BTW: the little plant to the left is one of the original seeds I germinated that never really did much and an unintentional clone (snapped off while lst'ing this very short plant), not expecting it to do much but you never know..lol
