3 weeks from seed. Just FFOF, RO water and 400 Watt COB so far. I might start a low dose of Gobox Nutes this weekend. Oct 6 4.jpg

BTW, the plant on the lower left of the second photo was topped. It seems to be doing as well as the ones that weren't.

Oct 7 – The plants were starting to look underfed? So I decided to start giving them some nutes. I started with a ½ measure of Biogrow and Cal/Mag.Oct 7.jpg

I'm noticing we have the same pheno or atleast pretty close ... the runt that I had is actually doing ok now I'm glad it started doing something for a while there I though she was gonna be pointless....Your leaves are starting to get big also .. Mine are blocking a lot of under growth .. Are you going to pluck any off

There seems to be lots of difffering opinions on this. This guy makes a case that is based in science. I have followed him through all my grows so far and I generally trust what he has said, and written in books:

Oct 8 – 12 hrs after first application of ½ measure cal/mag and Biogrow the leaves are perking up. I decided to start giving nutes after seeing what looked like deficiencies. There were 1 or 2 little pale spots on some leaves and overall they didn't seem as healthy as before. The Gobox nutrients certainly reversed that. Oct 8.jpg

it seems to be a good starting point for nutes. FFOF apparently is a pretty hot growing medium and the plants certainly thrived with just minimal water and light for around 20 days. I could definitely see a very minor problem at that point though. Happy to see everything perk up 12 hours after applying the biogrow and cal/mag 1/2 measure.

I'm subbed up. Interesting grow you got going on. Kudos for holding off on the nutrients until three weeks in. I see it over and over again, overfeeding is like an addiction. Growers buy all these nutrients and have no patience to hold off on using them until they're truly needed.

I think you'll really like the results you get from the Vero29 setup. @RainDan builds a quality product, it's clean, sleek, and I like how the reflectors look on there for aesthetics in addition to the light distribution. I also like the way the drivers are mounted.

Thanks. I'm definitely taking a less is more approach after scorching a nice SD grow last year. I didn't realize RainDan was the same Dan I purchased the lights from. The Timber Vero 29's are definitely a quality product. Everything arrived fully assembled. I just had to pop the reflectors on and mount it. They do get hot though. Ambient temp is 80 F where I am right now. Temp in the 5 x 3 x 8 grow room (in my garage) is 88 f. I have a box fan running and a 4" centrifugal fan on exhaust, with a passive intake.

Does anyone know what this yellow/green spot is? I noticed a few of them on random leaves before I applied nutes. Temps have been high the last few days. Its been steady 90 F in the grow room during the day. It dips to 80 at night. (I have a ton of air movement). We're having an unusually warm fall here but it should break soon. I'm wondering if the spots are from heat? or a deficiency of some kind? Everything is super healthy otherwise. Yellow Spot.jpg

I was molesting my plants last night and noticed a fruity mango smell from my runt .... The mutant I had got smells slinky though.....Looking great though sure do like the way they are turning out
Thanks. The smell from mine is pretty skunky at the moment. Temps are high here. Its peaking at around 91 F in the grow room. I have tons of air movment so they seem healthy.
