Fastest and best way to sample bud after harvesting?

I'm harvesting my bud next month and going on vacation shortly after. I want to try some before I leave though. I was thinking dry for 5 days then decarb the bud in the oven for 20 minutes and then smoke it? Would this work and still be potent without giving me a headache? Or is it better to let it dry even longer and smoke it straight off the drying rack?
Please don't tell me to just cure the bud in jars. I'll be doing that for the majority of buds but I don't want to wait 5 years to smoke my own homegrown.

5 days drying should be fine to smoke as-is. A little harsh since you'll have no cure but I love fresh buds even if they're a little harsh. For a quicker tester I just put a fresh bud on top of my hood which is warm (not hot) to the touch and leave it there for 24 hours, almost perfect dry for testing purposes. No need to decarb buds unless you're going to ingest it without burning or vaping it.

Wrap in foil. Place in oven on 450 for 8 hours......

Seriously. We just did this thread.

The best ideas were cook with a little bit to get your fix. Or dry lightly with a little heat. It will suck

No disrespect but I don't get the oven thing at 450. Wouldn't that temp destroy the THC in the sample?

Because I hit them with a hot iron at 150 -200 and pull rosin off the parchment anything higher and the bud is cooked and useless and tastes pretty bad.

What is going on in there at 450? I remember 70's people talked about ovens and sheet but not what exactly.

Uh. Yeah. It will surely destroy it.

Point being, don't do it. Reference other thread link. I came up with a few ways to destroy it. Such as wrapping in foil and microwaving for several hours
