Those lights will get you by for a while. You will need to get some more or a more powerful light.

Check this out.

would you actually need all those cfl's for just one plant? how many plants could you grow just with those lights?

if i get 125 watt cfls (because they dont put off as much heat) will that make some pretty good bud all the way through?

I think you mean CFLs*, and a 125w will work fine for veg but to use all the way through won't give you a very rewarding yield for the effort you'd be putting into it

A 400 watt HP light can cover a 3x3 to 5x5 area.
If you keep your plants SHORT..(flower clones) you can grow 50 plants.
BUt if you let them get big.. lets say flowering them when they are 24 inches tall.. then you will only be able to grow 2-4 plants..

I would recommend 9 plants in 1-3 gallon containers.. in a perfect square formation..

wow that was very helpful garden so probably 9 plants .. what size buckets and what height would be good for 9 plants 12inches? im real new and about how much will a 400 watt bulb add to the electricity just a rough estimate

You can prolly get away with half that, but why? You need lots of light for dense strong bud.
yea but would it affect the yield if you use flors for veg and a 400w hps for budding? or does the yield have to do with what kind of light you use to budding?

so if i use flours in the veg stage... does it affect the bud or is that only in the budding stage... i would like my plants about a foot tall

fluoros are actually better for vegging because they have more blue in their spectral output whereas an hps bulb has more red. blue is needed for veg growth and red is for flowering. actually most fluoros are full spectrum anyway

Hello ACE

1. I would use 3 gallon buckets
2. use a 70% soil 30% perlite mix
3. foxfarm or black gold soil
4. flowering them at 12 inches sound GREAT.. I grow them to 14-16 inches tall.. clone them down to 8-10 inches and then flower them when they reach 10-12 inches...
5. In california a 400 watt bulb can cost, roughly 30-50 dollars a month.
