so im planning for my next re-amendment and cook

I built the soil and its currently on its first use
roughly 2 cubic ft or 15 gallons

5 gallons of each, perlite/compost/peat
2.5 cups lime
8 cups rock dust
1 cup azomite
6 cups mix

mix ratio;
2 part kelp
1 part neem
1 part alfalfa
1 part crab
1/2 part fish meal

the next time I re-amend it
id like to add a little feather meal because the N didn't quit make it to the end of flower and it was lacking in P which required a few high P guano additions so im going to add a little bone meal also next time

im going to re-amend the soil like this
per 2 cubic ft

2 gallon compost
2 cups gypsum
3 cups mix

how much feather meal and bone meal should I add to this mix? ( I was thinking maybe 1/2 part??)

2 part kelp
1 part neem
1 part alfalfa
1 part crab
1/2 part fish meal
? part bone meal
? part feather meal

Did you use AMF / myco fungi or any rock minerals / glacial rock dust / greensand

You would be surprised what having the right bioweb in place will do as well.

Dont underestimate the fungi!

EDIT
Also, you listed you used 15 gallons then broke it down as 7.5 so did you double your "mix ratio" bro???

I would not add either by the way, just saying! thinking differently may be the solution..

I wouldn't use feather meal on cannabis. It often contains arsenic.
Have you considered blood (12-0-0) or neem cake (6-1-2)?
What kind of bone are you using? Fish bone meal works well.

One amendment I'm really starting to like is crab meal (4-3-0). Lots of N, plus slow-release P. (17% calcium)

ya I used both crab and neem

and its bone meal.... not fishbone meal...they didn't have the fish bone meal

so basically your saying I should just add some of the original mix by top dress as needed if the N not making it thru to the end and not try to formulate the slow release feather meal into the mix

I got to week 4 of flower before I started seeing N def
added some hydrolyzed fish a pinch of N guano and some tea and its good for now

You should get a soil test and determine appropriate amendments with knowledge about your mix to guide you.

my thought process was that if my current mix provided adequate N (water only) until week 4 of 12/12 that a small amount of a slower release N (feather meal) would get me to week 7 (or more) of 12/12 before the N dropped off at an attempt at a only water grow

when I say only water I mean no additional amendments added, just up-potting thru veg and nice size pots during bloom

does that logic not hold water?

I add bone meal @1cup/cf when making my mix. Steamed bone meal, same as what you have.

No experience with feather meal.

For a mind visual, imagine the 2.9ppm as 3 pennys in $10,000 worth of pennys. Sorta puts it in perspective.

its the first ingredient listed in most pre-formulated dry organic bag fertilizers, like botanicare and happy frog

so I was wondering.......

Alphabetical?
typically and by the fda std ingredients are listed by portions... but who knows how they do it..

the first ingredient would be the most abundant and the last ingredient the least abundant portion of the total volume

im sure there is a better way to say this im just not at full function at the moment ...lol

so like when you buy dog food

if the first ingredient says chicken your good, if it says corn meal your not so happy cuz its mostly filler

of course this is a simplified example

Far from being a "waste product", a very large % of bone meal is used in the making of gelatin. Jell-O and pill capsules are just a couple of examples. It's very carefully processed, hardly 'floor sweepings'.
