The first came from U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag, who advised the Oakland, Calif., city attorney that "we will enforce" federal marijuana law "vigorously against individuals and organizations that participate in unlawful manufacturing and distribution activity involving marijuana, even if such activities are permitted under state law."

Talk radio mentioned yesterday that Patience Report: When they go to "Albatin Wellness Cooperative" Montel Williams Dispensary you must be counseled by the onsite Dr. which determines the med and the dosage… :?:

If legalized will all dispensaries operate and distribute med’s similar to a pharmacy like AWC.
Turn of the tide... I'm just wondering if Montel has some insight or knowledge as to how the government is planning to regulated Dispensaries in order to operate, and if this is a motivating factor behind the way AWC is handling their patient care.

Could all be just smoke and mirrors to gain approval by some of those that usually are opposed to MMD and get them to consider this kinda like a pharmacy.

I know he has access to Attorney’s & Govt. politicians the avg. joe or even the above avg. joe couldn’t afford/find, probably as friends at that.

I believe this story will be creating alot of noise in the near future, and due to Montel's celebrity status along with our current government debt, this wont just be about "Stoners tryna push weed" but
"The Plant that Elevated America" Figuratively and Literally.

In addition.
Last night channel 2 Bay Area news reported on a Chiropractor using and prescribing a topical spray extracted from MM to relieve head and muscle aches.
Every day its in the news some kind of way, The wave is coming...:weed: or :wall:
This makes this subject even more relevant...

AWC is treating patience in a pharmacy like manor that leads me to believe Montel has some insight as to how the Government plans to regulate distribution.
-Justs a thought on the subject, hope Im not having 1 of my conspiracy theory moments LOL

It appears here that they are targeting BIG growers.
Money, it's a hit, don't give me that do goody good bullshit.
Is it not true that the Federal Government has treaties>? Then the only way forward is to focus on legalizing Cannabis Horticulture for the people.

We can fight those of us who are against the all or nothing cannabis legalization but the truth is we cannot move forward with legal sales but we can legalize private horticulture, use and private trade.

It's on us to splash some cold water on our faces and split up the efforts into phases.
First let our people be free to grow, use and share with others.

We can do worse like wait and vote for an all or nothing again in 2012.

I am glad people are still thinking.

The first time I saw them was in '72, before Dark Side of the Moon came out, again in the late '70s on the Animals tour and in '94. Also saw Gilmour after his first solo LP.

The Change we want has to come from within us.

We can see this as a reinforcement of our current drug industry not a rejection of drug industry.
It is obvious that the Obama administration is in the "If it ain't broke don't fix it" mode of action.
They will do little to cause any economic disturbance even to the failed war on drugs.
It seems obvious to me the real truth about American Capitalism is that it is in more danger than we really know.

So the word is keep the price of weed high and everyone gets a cut. Law enforcement industry doesn't lose jobs and prisons stay overcrowded while folks loose their jobs for testing positive for cannabis which they can legally use in California and elsewhere.

Again I say, we must be the change. If we focus on legalizing cannabis horticulture, use and private trade and skip the commerce language we can pass legalization for the people first and soon.
Otherwise we waste a turn and need to wait for 2014 or 2016.

Why get old waiting to legalize California's unofficial State Flower?

Think about this.. Legalize the Green of the plant this time not the Green of profits.
Both the No people and the Yes people can agree if we do.

The Justice Department and the Obama administration appear to have backtracked on early promises to respect state medical marijuana laws, opening the door for more federal raids on medical marijuana growers and dispensaries.
In a memo sent June 29 to U.S. attorneys, Deputy Attorney General James Cole said cultivators and sellers of medical marijuana were in clear violation of the Controlled Substances Act and open for prosecution. That’s a marked departure from the Obama administration’s early rhetoric, which was that those in compliance with state medical marijuana laws wouldn’t be a priority for federal law enforcement. (As DOJ reviews legality of merger, it’s AT&T versus Sprint)
On the campaign trail in 2008, Obama said, “I’m not going to be using Justice Department resources to try to circumvent state laws on this issue.”
In an October 2009 memo, previous Deputy Attorney General David Ogden said U.S. attorneys “should not focus federal resources” on prosecuting those who are in “clear and unambiguous compliance with existing state laws providing for the medical use of marijuana.”
Attorney General Eric Holder, an Obama appointee, also signaled that the administration would respect state medical marijuana laws.
“For those organizations that are doing so sanctioned by state law, and doing it in a way that is consistent with state law, and given the limited resources that we have, that will not be an emphasis for this administration,” Holder said in 2009.
In Cole’s memo, which was written in response to inquiries from U.S. attorneys regarding the 2009 directive, Cole struck quite a different tone.
“The Ogden Memorandum was never intended to shield such activities from federal enforcement action and prosecution, even where those activities purport to comply with state law,” Cole wrote. “Persons who are in the business of cultivating, selling or distributing marijuana, and those who knowingly facilitate such activities, are in violation of the Controlled Substances Act, regardless of state law. Consistent with resource constraints and the discretion you may exercise in your district, such persons are subject to federal enforcement action, including potential prosecution. State laws or local ordinances are not a defense to civil or criminal enforcement of federal law with respect to such conduct, including enforcement of the CSA.”
