this is my second grow. my first was terrible because of major nute burn late into flowering which ruined my hard work, so this time im going realy easy on the nutes. anyways this is my blue mystic three weeks into veg, i tied her down because of height restrictions in my grow box. i have taken pictures of it, its about 4 feet high. im using a 150watt hps so in all i have about three feet to grow because of heat. im thinking of putting her in flowing in the next days. take a look at the pics tell me what you think...

Personaly I would let my plants get a lot bigger than that, before I start flowering. IMO you should let it grow out for about 3 more weeks until starting flower. If it does ever get to big you can alays just cut it in half.

well i have it tied down the actual height looks to be around a foot and a half i would just hate to grow her for longer to just cut her in half time wasted no??

No, I cut my plants in half all the time, the technique is called 'topping'. Topping your plant dosent less your yeild, it promotes horizontal growth instead of vertical. The buds that you would be losing would be made up for, because you will have bigger thicker buds on the lower part of the plant, then you would if you didnt top it.

so should i top it now? also, if i do top it will it still grow taller as time passes, or will it stay at the height where i cut it?

The olny reason I was suggesting topping was if it ever got to big for your box otherwise, no I wouldnt top it. And of course it will grow taller over time, but it will grow as a thick short round bush, instead of a tall plant.

well i hear blue mystic does not get to tall so i think i will be good, but im thinking about leaving it veg for one more week so a month in total is that not the average wait time for vegging, if not what is? also have you ever grown a blue in that case has anyone grown a blue mystic if so what are your thoughts of the plant and buds.

hi, ive grown blue mystic, from royal queen, and it was a defo indi dom strain that did not stretch to much, ive read that nirvana blue mystic can show alot off sativa dom so would expect that to stretch more, mine only stretched about a foot or so,but did fill out a bit, it produces a lovely flower, 9 out of 10 germed and only i had 1that was not as full!! so they were all quite stable, produced a lovely resin and a nice couch-lock, made come butter then a cake and half killed my friends!!!lol, after all if your not comfortable topping you could allways carry on tying down, like lst-ing , good luck

cut your plant in half is bad advice and is NOT TOPPING!
If your plant is 18" high then u are ready to flower considering the low level of light. Good Luck

this plant is also indica dominated 5/5 germinated but this is the only one i could actually grow out due to complications but thanks for the info today is day two im thinking a week or so and i should know if its really a feminized plant keep looking for news ill post again in a few days

ya i figured im not going to top my plant and i dont even think i will have to tie it down again it seems to have stoped growing taller in the past week and has gotten bushier but we will see

ouch sorry about that i thought you were someone else but thanks for stoping by hope this time it goes better for you sucks to have waited a month to find out there all males thats why i get feminized seeds i just hope that there really 100% female

just an update i added chicken wire to my box to keep the plants lower im not to sure on how this works but im thinking i just let the plant grow into the wire therefore keeping the main part of the plant lower if im mistaking can someone correct me also about topping my plant ive decided that its not going to happen just because i see it as a wast of time but thanks for the uncle ben technique maybe ill try that on the next grow ill have new pictures in the upcoming days thanks for the responses and help

ok so this is day 8 of 12/12 and still no hairs but it is looking good i will post pictures when the lights go on around 7 O'clock
