Females by Smell

I have noticed that after my sprouts are a few inches. They carry a scent that I can pick out the females without the need for force flowering. I still don't pull anything till I know for sure, but I have been right on so far. Anyone else doing this or able to do this or is it just me? The females usually carry a strong scent from sprout to finish and the males just don't smell at all. It could be that my other senses are not that good and my smell is a lot more sensitive than normal, but would love some feedback.

lol...wot???? i dont think i have ever heard of this, but if it works. could you discribe the smell?
Yeah I'd like to know that smell too, I sniff the shit out of my plants.. even when vegging. I only notice a real change the day the smallest pistils emerge from the first flowers...

The females just carry a scent. Same as what you smell when flowering but it's very light. Smell the main cola where the new growth is forming. The males carry no scent at all. So far, that has been working real good for me.

Maybe it's the strain you're growing - both of my grows thus far, ALL the plants started stinking around two weeks old - males as well as females. I had to pull four males from my second grow the other night, they had my whole kitchen smelling before they went out to the burn barrel.

my smelliest plant to date was a NYC Diesel male i bred with my NL female. BTW, my NL doesnt smell even at harvest uless touched...it certainly doesnt smell in veg.
yeah to smell my plant i put my index and thumb on the stock and just give it a lil rub. not wanting to hurt the plant. then i smell my fingers and thats how i smell my plants. but yeah my females don't smell. very low oder but when i use my fingers and it reeks that way.

Mabey it was just the strain. I'm still new to this so the feedback is awesome. I like the idea to train dogs to pick out the females.
