Dude wtf, that is the biggest fucking plant I have ever saw for 17 days old from cracked seed. Mine is only 8 days old but is around 5-7 inches tall. It seems so small compared to this big ass bushy plant. Very nice, most likely an experiences grower.
Thats because he's taken very good care of his.. and he's given it proper care and love.. just like I do. Therefore, I have to give Mr. Fractus some +rep because I'm really liking his style here. Love it!

Also, the other factor to his being bigger and more full/dense/bushier, is mainly due to the growing container he's using to grow in. He's got plenty of room for the roots to develop and expand. Happy roots = happy plants; happy plants = happy grower. ;)

peace.

Pretty cool stuff cannabisguru, your plants look healthy, and I agree with quality over quantity; however, I'm aiming for both because my previous plants were always good smoke and small yield. This time I'm hoping to have lots to go around :) Here's the latest update from my closet:

So the last update you have is from May 27th. Now it's 9 days later, so here are a few pics to show you all what kind of growth I have observed.

May 29 - Plant is 23 days old.

June 1st - Plant is 26 days old

June 3rd - Plant is 28 days old

June 5th (today) - Plant is 30 days old - 14 inches tall - I trimmed about 6 large fan leaves off because everything was too crowded.

Gimme your thoughts folks. What do you think of this plant after 1 full month? I'm thinking I will wait at least another week and a half before flowering. If I let her go any longer than that, I'm worried she might not fit in my closet through flowering haha.

Notice in some of my pictures you can see a clear glass with a little clipping inside it. On may 27th I cut off one of the two lowest branches on the plant. Sliced it like a spear and shoved it in a shot glass full of mud. I kept it covered with that glass, today I checked it out and it has 1/4 inch roots. Woot! First clone ever, and no rooting solution. That's probably why it took 9 days to root though.

I still think you should tie the top down, the lower shoots wil even out at the top of the canopy....Your not going to get alot of light to the bottom shoots as the main stem keeps growing and you'll have to keep moving your lights up.

How should I go about tying the top down? The last time I did any kind of training, I just tied the top over to a 90 degree over time, is there a way to not mess with the shape of the plant so much and just restrict the main cola from growing taller than the rest?

Another update on my lady who is now 32 days old.
Topped and Tied folks. Have a looksee. I think I might give her about two weeks to fully recover from all the stress before I flower.

Dubbz0r, you can do much more than hope for your LS. Just plan it all out before starting anything and you'll have a successful grow. I gotta say though, my secret is a $5 moisture-meter, a shit ton of soil, and a good percentage of perlite. It holds moisture well, and allows for breathability. I made sure I have enough mix to grow a monster and never need another transplant, and I only water once a week, and by that time, the soil 1 foot down is reading "Moist" on the meter. I have only watered 4 times since transplant, 2 of those times using 1/2 strength ferts, the other two were straight water. I give her about 2 gallons when I water though.

My soil is happy frog, fox farm and worm castings which should be good to go. The problem is the LS were clones and they looked kinda sad from the beginning. I have been supercropping them and topping lately. Today when the lights come back on I plan to start LST'ing them. My problem is that I have too much time on my hands and I'm expecting immediate results lol I'm learning to leave them alone for a few days before I judge them and they are growing steady now.

I can't wait to see the buds you get off of that baby. Looks real good.

Thanks man. And keeping yourself busy is the best way to go. I water and then don't change a thing for a few days until I see something that needs to be done. I just take a peak at her every day to make sure things are going well. I always notice a significant change in 24 hours though. I'm guessing I'll see pistils in 2 days at this rate. Also, like someone on this thread told me, don't trim or LST too much during flower because of the stress. Nobody wants a hermie :)

So my plant is currently 61 days old. I had to tie her again to try and level out the canopy under the light. Before I tied it, my two tops were almost reaching the 3 foot mark. The odd thing is she is still not showing any sign of genetics after 2 weeks of 12/12 and several waterings using 15-30-15. She's getting massive though and smells delightful.

I noticed the first pistils come out 24 hours ago. Now, I'm getting tons of concentrated pistils at the future budsites :D I guess my feminized seed pulled through for me

81 days old and my canopy is getting to be hilariously wide, still occasionally trimming and tying, bud development is good. Trichomes are all over the buds, stems and leaves. My fingers are sticking to my keyboard as we speak just from plucking some aged leaves. :) I'm a happy grower.
