Feminized Seeds- worth it?

Thinking about buying new beans- and because it's a bit of a drag to invest so much time to find the plants are male, was thinking feminized. I've heard conflicting info about hermies from feminized seeds- does this risk outweigh the benefits of the female seeds? Can one just remove the male flowers on a plant from a feminized seed?

I haven't had any hermies from a fem plant. This mostly has to do with the way you take care of a plant. Don't stress it = Full Female
Me and my people have had nothing but success with fem seeds

i agree too. especially for small grow ops of 1-3 plants. dont want to wait 1.5 months to see you had shitty luck and got all males. your paying for a convenience, which i find to be worth the price

You should really look into feminizing them yourself..using the banana method...there are also some environment variables that can ensure higher female ratios....I persoanlly HATE female seeds..just because its not NATURAL...Id rather treat them with ethylene(the gas given by rotting vegetables and fruits)and trun them female like that...

I wouldn't buy fem seeds not only because of a chance of hermie but because if I want to breed my own seeds I wouldn't have any male stock to choose from. Sure you have to wait until you flower to see what ya got, but after that you can just clone your female, and then you know for sure you have females and they arn't geneticly going to hermie on you.

If you just want to grow 1 or 2 plants from the start and have no intention of breeding or cloning, then by all means get the fem seeds, they will probably be just what you want.

Exaclt..Id rather take my share of females, then picking a nice female mother plant..and never look back at seeds again..unless you want to try a new strain..then just order some more seeds...but really look into the banana method..itll give you 100 female ratios!!!

Female seeds aren't genetic modifications of any sort.
Where you guys get that from? Not natural?
Female seeds happen because someone bread two female plants together. Causing only female chromosomes in the seed. Not a mutation, just a survival trait that even frogs have. This can be accomplished by spraying a certain type of liquid to make a female plant have pollen sack or by interrupting the cycle of one of or all of the shoots on a plant where buds will eventually form for an hour during the dark period.

100 female ratio? you feelin ok there buddy. i support the banana method but no one said anything about 100% ratio or that it was fully proven. Just hsn't been un-proven either. Don't feed people incorrect "facts", especialy when you just learned the info on ethylene.

i bought pick n mix seeds all femd, i figure why am i gonna spend more on a pack of 10 ?? seeds when ill have to grow all of them to see which are female.also i got 8 different strains(16 seeds total) (7 free) for just under $140....

i only want 1 mother plant per strain, and femd seeds seem like the way to start !
if i need more seeds... ill try and make my own

This is cool info- thanks guys. I'm thinking this way because I just grew out 3 autoflowers and got 2 males... so need to sprout another 2 seeds. For the 4 or 5 plants that I'm growing, it's a bother to get males. Fems it is.

No one said they were genetic modifications I said they are more likely to geneticly hermie as apposed to stress hermie, and yes they are unnatural, spraying a chemical on a female plant so that it grows balls and pollinates its self seems pretty unnatural to me.

Im not saying you guys shouldn't grow fem seeds, that is your choice and only you can decide what you want, I'm just saying they arn't perfect and you should consider all the variables.

clones people clones. get a few good female genetics and just clone the poo-poo out of them. no need for and the guess work.
