feminized vs regular?

As I said in my intro post, I've been growing from clones from 4 diff strains for 5 yrs from seeds I got during a trip to a-dam. I just can't resist any longer. All the strains nowadays, fogetaboutit. I've done research on femenized seeds. What I've found is a lot of people are getting males and hermes. Is that because they are buying seeds off the stressed female (made to herm) or has the feminized craze been falsly advertised as being 100% when its realistictly 80%? Or are they buying regular seeds thinking they are buying fems? So my question is, is it even worth the money. Most banks sell 5 fems for the price of 10 regs. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Out

Ibuy both. I buy the regular seeds in hopes of crossing them with a nice female and getting a different strain suited to me and the crew. I also buy feminized of the good ones so I dont mess aorund with wasting time and money only to find out its a male.

I never had any problems with my feminized seeds when they come from a good seed bank

Get regulars. Some fem seeds hermi to all hell if you stress them out even a little bit. If it's you're first grow just get the regular ones.

I personally opt for regular seeds and my first grow of any new strain is a seed run (at least partial) to supply me with future seeds. Then I can start a large grow down the road and just ditch the males when they show sex.

But if you have the extra money I can see the benefit of being able to start X seeds and know that 9/10 will be ladies. I personally just don't want to double my seed price for this convenience.

This is such a gray area that I don't think there is a wrong or right answer--it comes down to personal preference, how much room you have for plants, etc.

I buy regular when I do. I figure if I get ten feminized for the price of 20 regulars I'm likely to get at least half female. From my experiences usually more than that so its been more efficient for me doing it that way. Then I just keep the best plants around for mothers and ditch the rest.

Feminized seeds will produce plants slightly less sexually stable than plants from regular seeds, but the offspring of feminized seeds will be more uniform than those from regular seeds. If you want the best chance of getting a good mother go regular seed, if you want the convenience of knowing the sex of your seed before flowering but are willing to take a risk on sexual stability go feminized.

Feminized seeds = good for trying a strain

Regular seeds = best for finding a mother

I'm a regular seed guy. I don't see the extra money personally. I don't trust most of the seedbanks all that much anyway, personal problem I guess.
As far as Lowryder, I am currently growing my first one. I am in week eight and I think that I have about 2 weeks to go. This is an outside grow though and they always take a little longer. I should also say that this is Lowryder #1, I crossed it with a hermie sativa. The sativa hermied when I left my porch light on a few days, once the light went off the hermie stopped. Hope this helps and happy growing

I believe as long as you get good beans from a good seed company like soma, seedsman, sensi, barneys farm. Don't stress your girls out you''ll be fine. I would go femm if you are'nt growing alot of girls. but if your growing over lets say 12 then go reg.
