Fertilizer/Soil Question

Hey guys, quick question:

I'm a brand newbie at this stuff and am looking for a good soil. I have been reading up and it seems Miracle Grow is not a good way to go. Since I don't have a "local hydro store" anywhere near me, my options are pretty much with smaller nurseries and big places like Lowes or Home Depot.

While I need advice for soil, I also have a few bags of different things at home already- can I do anything with these?:

-Miracle Grow Organic Choice Blood Meal (12-0-0)
-Miracle Grow Organic Choice Bone Meal (6-9-0)
-Espoma Plant-tone (5-3-3)
-ACE Brand Potting Soil

Any tips would be appreciated!
Thanks

prolly can start them in the potting soil Only then when they get big enuff to transplant you can mix up some your other things there maybe get some perlite/vermiculite and some espoma bio-tone and bloom nutes (higher in p & k) later on

Thanks for the quick reply- about how much of the other stuff should go in with the soil? Could you make up a quick 'recipe'?

Thanks again

idk because i havent personaly used it but it should give you a good idea on the back of the bag *Example* 1/2 cup per gallon of soil etc... check the organic's section of the forums im sure their are some recipes there

I had the same situation myself, here's what I used. This is not the 'best of the best' soil mixes, but it has worked well for me. Everything came from lowes except for the dolomite which is available in local nursery stores and is real cheap.

Miracle Grow Organic Choice Garden Soil mixed with 10% perlite
For every gallon of soil, mixed in 1 tbsp dolomite and 1 tbsp Miracle Grow Organic Choice Bone Meal

you play runescape!! haha
haha years ago, yes..

@growone - thanks for the advice I'll look into it!

Edit- I'm looking into Peter's Jack's Classic / Blossom Booster... If I mix that in at the appropriate times with plain ACE potting soil mixed with 10% perlite do you guys think that would work fine?
