Few questions that i cant seem to answer. 400 watt grow space

hello everyone ill try to make this simple, yet im having such a hard time trying to figure out..

I recently just did my first grow ( woooho)and it was successful; not perfect but successful. Im using a 400 watt hps for veg and flower.. i know rookie but thats all i can do for the moment. i plan on building up knowledge and then going out and buying better lighting. i grow three plants in a 5 gallon bucket n my closet didnt , had allot of heat issues , space issues air flow issues you name it and it was due to the small size.

so i plan on moving everything to a bedroom and having my grow there. i know 400 watt does not cover allot of area ( not perfect with exact light measurements) so i plan on using a corner of the bedroom but i just dont know how many plants i can fit in a contained area from the corner of the wall out. i plan on starting them in 1 gals and moving them to 3 gallons to keep everything more controlled and have more plants than my normal fat 3 plants..

Q- from the corner of the wall, what is the best growing space for a 400 watt hps veg to flower .(etc. 3x4long?)

Q- with a 400 watt should i invest in a 4 ft light mover to cover maybe 2 extra feet from the corner out so 3x6long?

Q- i plan on fitting 6 plants in a 3 gals without the light mover and with light mover i plan on adding 2 mroe plants at the end making it 8 plants... ( 2 rows of plants/ 8 plants total with lightmover?

help help help seeds will be here any day now i do not want to grow in my closet which is in my living room anymore. i will sacrifice a bedroom so the airflow is better temperature and space is better but i cannot upgrade to a 600 or 1000 atm... thank you for thos eof you who take the time and respond! will get back to you asap

Are you going to enclose said area? If you leave it open you are wasting light. Buy a tent. Are you growing more plants for variety or are they all the same? The price of a good light mover is almost as much as a ballast upgrade.

Adding a couple of DIY cob leds would provide good veg lighting and great supplemental lighting to your hps. No light mover required. Stop by the led section if you have some time to do some research. One 50w cree cxb-3590 in each corner of a tent and your hps would be a great setup

thanks for the info guys! honestly i decided to not take my bedroom apart i am going to wait until i move in a 2 bedroom until then i will use my 3x3x8 closet space. get better reflector+air cooled and practice and get better. i want to understand how to scrog and train my plants to scrog i just havent done it yet. also by raising my light up to 7 feet and bringing it down and having a fan on it i should be good. i have a zipper door with panda plastic but it gets so hot in the room i leave the door open

Check out the mainlining thread here on riu. It has some pretty good training techniques that make for a good strong plant.

one of my first few grows I used a 400w cool tube exhausting right back into the same room no fresh air
I used the scrog method some what got kinda lazy with it
Not sure how but got 3/4 a pound with that
So many mistakes were made
If I were to ever use a light move her I would only have it moved to 3 inches just a cast shadows moving it too far away just going to rob Peter To pay Paul lol
