I've been growing for a lot of years and am fully convinced that herms are genetic and any plant will herm no matter what if it has those genes. I neglect the crap out of my plants and rarely have herms. When I have it's been a new strain on it's first, and last, run.
Interesting you mention that. There were several plants out of a grow with the mother (Subcool Jack The Ripper) that had microseeds in a lot of the buds, so I don't wanna stress it at all. That's basically just the ovum forming but won't go further without pollination as I understand it. Or some pollen hit the plants shortly before cropping so the seeds didn't have time to develop further.
