Alright, newb question. Is FIMing and Topping only done to areas of new growth coming off the very top of the main stem, or can you do it to areas of new growth on branches? It's okay to laugh at me.

You can do it to new growth shoots anywhere... Although it may not always be advantageous.
In terms of benefiting flower production sites, should I stick with new growth from the main stem? I just want to make sure I'm doing it the right amount as opposed to cutting everywhere.

Topping can really be anywhere. Fiming for 4 new growths needs to be done on new growth. In my experience.

Generally you want the most even canopy horizontally. After that you want to LST your new top growths so they have even spacing.
