Fingering the world of synthetics!!!

Hello all!

I am currently at wk 5ish on my indoor garden!
DTW coco in 2 gal pots, 6 plants per 1000w light, 4k, SOG style!
These plants were rooted in an aerocloner, then transplanted into pure coco coir (botanicare i think) with some earth worm castings (soil builder) and mykos (xtreme gardening) for the transplant.

I am running House & Garden Coco with most of the H&G line. All of which were FREE based on giving a review of the products to my supplier. I have seen H&G kill on the commercial scale so I am very familiar with what to use when, and how much to use!

Currently I am using COCO A&B, Calmag (will stop when I stop using top booster), drip clean, BUD XL, hygrozyme, and TOP BOOSTER which is used during wk 5.
I am also using GH floranectar as well as AN Big Bud, yeah I know how to push it:hump:.

When I am done running top booster I will flush with some Botanicare Liquid Karma and begin using shooting powder in conjunction with AN BIG BUD.
What's the point of running synthetics if you don't maximize your yields right?

IMG_0766.jpg
Sorry for quality of picture will get more as they start to develop and shit. Have been using AN BIG BUD since wk1 flower WITH Hygrozyme as I had no multizen, and then along with BUD XL since wk 3 flower, again running hygrozyme til I begin the final flush!

Happy growing to all!
AN check out my outdoor thread!bongsmilie

Thanks for the kind words ASV!;)
I saw your set up and you would kill it in a bigger space, very detail oriented as indoor growers have to be!
I will def keep the bud porn coming! (no pun intended;))

It's funny I was contemplating posting this thread in the grow log section but didn't feel the desire to put that much work into it, however now I feel exiled to the far off realm of Soil-less hydro forums, thanks to ASMALLVOICE I know I'm not alone!:bigjoint:

Cheers and good growing!

Hey coolman thanks for stopping by! Glad you're enjoying yourself!

I have just finished running top booster, bud xl, along with big bud from wk 5 into wk 6.
Yesterday being roughly mid wk 6 I flushed with Liquid Karma, and Big Bud, using Coco A & B as well as GH Floranectar, drip clean, and hygrozyme.

It is crucial to flush after running top booster before running the shooting powder!

Tomorrow I will start running the shooting powder for roughly 1-1.5wks and then flush until they autumn out.
IMG_0853.jpg
Frost factor is very high through out the entire garden.
IMG_0852.jpg
Have yet to hit the peak of bloom and already I'm seeing mega output.
IMG_0850.jpg
Will for sure have to throw some trellis in the coming days:mrgreen:
IMG_0849.jpg
An people wonder why SOG is so good?
These are in 2 gal pots vegged for less than 7 days!
IMG_0847.jpg
This is the shit that's actually fun to trim:hump:.

Now it will be interesting to see how using shooting powder and big bud together will effect these ladies.
Interesting as in how fat can we plump these fine ladies up while still coming away with A++?

My guess if real fat:blsmoke:

What is shooting powder? I'm sure it's talked about in some forum somewhere but I'm feeling lazy tonight. Very very nice looking grow, brother!!! Cheers!

ASV thanks again and yes, it's actually starting to smell like sweet fermented fruit with a exhale of fresh camel shit what with the 7 or so different strains all together ;)

Het snutter thank for stopping by and the kind words! I'm feeling lazy too bongsmilie so i'll let H&G explain...

"Shooting Powder
is House & Garden’s late flowering additive. Shooting Powder helps to induce a second surge of flower production during the last three weeks of the flowering cycle. The impact that this late flower additive will have on your harvest can result in up to 30% increase in yield.Compatible with all nutrient lines, Shooting Powder is the secret of any successful gardener.
Derived From: Potassium Sulfate, Potassium Carbonate, and Potassium Phosphate
Ingredients Explained: House and Garden’s formulation consists of two main active ingredients; phosphorous and potassium. Phosphorus plays an essential role in photosynthesis and is involved in the production of all oils, starches and sugars. Both a stress reducer as well as a maturation facilitator, phosphorus facilitates rapid growth while boosting flower and root development. Potassium is responsible for water loss and absorption as well as the ability to endure colder temperatures. Potassium is also necessary in the formation of sugars, starches and carbohydrates needed for protein synthesis and cell division."

Not everyone like to use it or has even had success using it, I am among many who probably use it somewhat differently than what H&G recommends.
But see how large the top colas are now? After shooting powder they can pack on 2-3inches girth and turn your 1.25lbs/k harvest into 1.75+lbs/k!

Cheers!

That's a beautiful scene goin on there.. I see you use the shooting powder. I did try that once ( didn't use the top booster or anything else with it) but the results weren't impressive.. I just followed the directions on the label.. How exactly do you use them to see good results? I'm kind of skeptical of even buying those things again after the results I had and paying so much $$ for them..

Hey rickymac21, thanks for stopping in!

I don't blame you. I believe you could use GH kool bloom powder and get similar weight results, but thc is a huge factor that GH hasn't gotten down, so I stick with advanced, h&g, canna, soul synthetics when it comes to pk boosting in a synthetic grow.

I cut my base nutrients in half to about 300-400ppm's, .5-.6ec and use shooting powder at 80% app rate for just under 2wks, feeding every other day. The key with any "snake oil" pk booster is to have the absolute healthiest plant in the perfect indoor environment. Otherwise you'll see "the claw" and need to flush 2x as long.

In organics the equivalent to a pk booster is a fully amended soil top dressed with lengbeinite wks3 and 5 of bloom.

"Potassium Magnesium Sulfate: Langbeinite

Langbeinite is a unique source of plant nutrition since three essential nutrients are naturally combined into one mineral.
It provides a readily available supply of K, Mg, and S to growing plants.
Production
Langbeinite is a distinctive geological material found in only a few locations in the world. Commercial supplies of langbeinite come from underground mines near Carlsbad, New Mexico (USA), which were first commercially developed in the 1930s. These deposits were formed millions of years ago when a variety of salts, including langbeinite, were left behind after

the evaporation of ancient ocean beds. These salt deposits were buried deep beneath hundreds of meters of sediment. The
langbeinite deposit is currently mined with large boring machines, washed to remove impurities, and then crushed to various
particle sizes. Langbeinite is considered a potash (or K-containing) fertilizer, even though it also contains valuable Mg and S.
Traces of iron oxide impurities give some langbeinite particles a reddish tint.
Agricultural Use
Langbeinite is a popular fertilizer, especially where several nutrients are needed to provide adequate plant nutrition. It has
an advantage of having K, Mg, and S all contained within a single particle, which helps provide a uniform distribution of nutrients when it is spread in the field. Due to economics, langbeinite may not be recommended to meet the entire K requirement

of a crop. Instead, application rate may be based on the need for Mg and/or S.
Langbeinite is totally water soluble, but is slower to dissolve than some other common K fertilizers because the particles are
denser than other K sources. Therefore, it is not suitable for dissolving and application through irrigation systems unless finely
ground. It has a neutral pH, and does not contribute to soil acidity or alkalinity. This differs from other common sources of Mg
(such as dolomite) which will increase soil pH and from elemental S or ammonium sulfate which will lower the soil pH.
It is frequently used in situations where a fertilizer free of Cl is desirable, such as with crops sensitive to Cl(some vegetables and certain tree crops). Langbeinite is a nutrient-dense fertilizer with a relatively low overall salt index. Particular sources of langbeinite have been certified for use in organic crop production in some countries."

Hey everyone here's an update to my final push in the indoor crop. It's the third feeding of shooting powder and I plant to feed with it only 2-3 x more, flush then chop crop drop shop vacation!!!!!

IMG_0957.jpg
Again for those of you just joining us this is the last stretch of 6-10 strains, 6 plants per light, 4x 1k hps, in 2 gal pots coco with mycos and ewc. Fed H&G Coco A and B, Calmag+, Using hygrozyme, root excel, H&G amino, nitrozime, sweet & floranectar, budxl, top booster, shooting powder, AN Big Bud powder. Going to finish with some soul synthetics Peak after a light flush from shooting powder.
Bring on the weight! With any luck this will finish right before my outdoor and be a nice "warm up" for taking down the outdoor!

Damn I've seen an increase in trich production as well as bud formation, I gotta wear long sleeves or when I brush against them they wet my arms with their supple oozing juices an my skin gets a little sensitive. Serious fucking SYNTHETICS people! But with a nice clean finish;-)

For some reason I can't get any clear shots and to be honest it's whatevs... you can see the blurry weight!

got a ton of work atm and my outdoor has been daddy's fav.
this garden has been pushed to the limit and is about to be cut down prior to the outdoor.
these tops are rock solid wet with resin and sooooo sticky icky....

see peeps synthetics have their place just gotta run em right, otherwise stick to soil and good cheap organics.
now are there any questions???

This is nuts people...
If you've followed this grow my synthetic "tester bonuses" ie combining AN Big Bud, H&G Shooting Powder with Soul Synthetics Peak with free H&G COCO with other free additive synthy kinda shit. Basically a weight grow of over 6 strains, 6 plants per light x 4.
IMG_1078.jpg
Have def been running the drip clean an lots of carbs for flushing... getting swollen and just fat dripping gobs of sticky icky oooo.....
IMG_1076.jpg
I am sorry folks I want to find the time to get in there and get some take down picks of individual strains as they're really turning beautiful autumn colors.
IMG_1073.jpgIMG_1072.jpgIMG_1070.jpgIMG_1069.jpgIMG_1066.jpgIMG_1064.jpg
These are ripe for the picking. Last day of sun for these girls then 48hrs darkness and running em through the new trim machine.

IMG_1081.jpg
Should be a good warm up for taking down my outdoor in the next wkish...

These ladies are sticky icky and soooo dense... hmmmm.... combining drip clean, sweet/floranectar, hygrozyme, an big bud and H&G shooting powder I think is a winning combo!!! Combined with the ease of fully flushing 2gal coco/plant this was very cost friendly! O except all my gear was donated for the sake of my investors! Gracias mi amigos!
