Finnaly, a grow with pics!

Hey, after asking around about wich lights to use, i decided to go with the CFL-in-a-box setup



And heres the inside.

So what yas think?

anyone who sees that will know immediately
what it is.
why keep your plants in some stuffy little box
if it doesn't at least offer some level of stealth?
but if you insist on keeping it you should at the
very least line the interior with white or mylar.
To make the most of those two CFLs.

not trying to bash on your grow, but 7 plants?

In addition to the horrible pigtail job on the comp fan connection to the power transformer.

You are going to be smoking that pot long before you plan to unless you start thinking about fire safety...

Yeah, its just for sprouting in.
Stealth isnt an issue here, im not trying to "stealthy". Ive no reason to be.

Agree with the fire afety thing, totally, ive been a dick as far as that goes. I guess i was just anxious to get something working!

Ofcourse all 7 of these plants wont in there for the whole grow, no one seriously thought that, did they?

The box is sitting on the floor of my cupboard, wich has a 600w HPS hanging at the top.

Im not very good at DIY stuff, ive got a bad hand wich has left in a position were i had to stop working, so sometimes simply jobs like this can be difficult.(note the cutting skillz)

it's hard to tell from that angle but how far are the lights from the plants? make sure they're about 2" from the tops of them - as long as it's not too warm on your hand it'll be fine for them.

when the lids closed they're around 2-3 inches, the one on the right is about 4-5 due to the bulb being smaller, the side 'walls' are covered with foil for reflection, i only plan on having them in that box for another week at the most. Ive ordered 4, 500w CFL grow lights, soon as they're here it'll be up, up & away! (I hope)

A few days on...

Look at this, its a freak!

Wen her soil gets dry, she lies down, wen u water her, up she pops, quite fascinating tbh. Shes grew in a S sorta thing, just were she popped her head out of the soil, ill fix it by potting her slightly deeper in a few days.

Got rid of the fire-hazardous box, the CFL's werent strong enough.
They're under the 600w HPS (Sunmaster dual spectrum lamp)

and theres a total of 5 fans, 1 80mm PC case fan, for the 'soft breeze' effect, 2x 120mm server fans, for intake & outtake, and 2 12" oscillating fans helps the air cycle.

500w CFL's , nice Tbag, good luck with the grow

Northern light feminized.

Any 1 got any advice on an 'supplements' i can give my infants? Taking into consideration their age (2 weeks) i dont want to burn them.

And another thing, my light, it is placed at the top of the closet, and the plants are at the bottom. Thats just short of 5foot. Does anyone suggest i move it closer? It still seems to be incredibly hot even at that distance, but the plants can handle that, right? I mean, 80 degrees feels warm to us, but thats perfect for the plants?
And, should my soil be feeling slightly warm or what? I dont want to cook them. If anyone can tell me a safe distance for my 600w hps, im willing to give it a go. Cheers.
