Hii guys

sry for my bad english

Im having trouble maintaining PH and EC leveles... I think my hydro is like DWC/DRIPP system .. here are some pictures

they are in there from day 1 and I busted my balls to keep them alive .. I have a 50L tank and 12 pots but using 6 of them right now..

im using RO water to mix nuts..when I putt nutes in there over a couple days EC is going too high couse I need to add a couple ml of PH downd every day...what em i missing here??

pH and PPM like the other poster asked and what nutrients are you using?

Temp in the residue is 20,21max when lights on ...
my PH right now is 5.5 but it will go up soon ...and EC 1.2 using Adwa meter ( I think my EC is too high ) .. i dont know how to convert this to ppm ..


I use RO ( for fish tanks though ) and before i put nutes ph of RO is close to 7 i think..



my ph is rising to fast..can it be hydroton rocks not well soaked in ph water??and if it is .. what is the propper way to soak hydroton?

I would try for a res temp closer to 60 to65f ... Res temp is a big factor in keeping ph stable. If you dont have any burnt leaf tips then your ec is ok

Going from EC tonight PPM is easy depending on your meter. Here are some calculations for some common used meter manafacturers.

Hanna - EC x 0.50ppm
Eutech - EC x 0.64ppm
Truncheon - EC x 0.70ppm

I use 100 ppm's for seedlings like what u have, 400-700 for veg, and 1100 - 1500 ppm's for flower and no nute burn. i have my water temp between 75 and 80f and have no problems my lady doesn't like the water cold. I try and keep my ph around 5.5 and 6.4. get you a ph meter with temp gage on it and a ppm meter you can both on amazon for cheap. and i use the lucas system and some other nutes but this isn't my first rodeo. i check my ph, ppm's, and temp about every 5-7 days when I clean out my res and add new fresh water and nutes. you don't have to soak hydroton with anything just clean off the clay residue in a strainer in your sink and you could use some h2o2 as well but it will not raise anything. I use a 400w MH bulb for veg and a 400w HPS bulb for flower but you can use either for the entire grow. I have a conversion ballast so I can switch it to 250w, 275w, 400w, and 425w.

100ppm for seedlings like mine?? woow !! my EC is definitely too high ... Im usig Adwa AD32 EC meter but i cannot find conversion to ppm but i think mine is like min 500 - 600 ppm if not higher at 1.2 EC ... I will put in a new res with 0.5 EC and going to buy ppm meter :) thanks

Here is a better way of figuring out EC to PPM with the measurements of PPM in both NiCal and 442 conversion. Great chart!

It can also have something with the grow stones ( Leca) are you using hydroton or ph stable hydrocorrels then theres nothing. but if you have normal, buildermarket Leca as i had in the start. then PH will raise 0.5-1,1 at one day in a 100 l tank, so i guess its the same in a 50 L tank. just have in mind leca stones can be the villian.. it is in my tank i dont use use water temp to tegulate ph, too much work. after going to hydroton it only raises 0,1-0,3 at day max..

That sounds like a hell of a lot for a 50L tank, I run the same size and use one quarter of a ml per day. How high does the PH climb over night?

my PH goes up 1.0 or more ....have no idea what to do anymore ..

Could be a pathogen problem, shocking the system with a strong (10ml/L) solution of 50% strength H2O2 should eliminate any nasties that have built up (just don't fill your whole res or it'll get expensive).
I'm not sure if it's being caused by the medium, I've personally used totally untreated RW straight from shelf to tray and had less PH variation than what you're getting. I'd be leaning more towards pathogen or maybe just poor PH buffering in your nutes.

you have acidly water then:D its depend how hard the water is where you live. the water here at my house are 9,2 ph, so i need approx 7-8 ml PH Down per every 10 liter ,water to get it to 5,8 ph in the whole tank. that was like 80 ml ph down every 3-4 day. so differenses are high.

first thing you need to do is check the PH in the clean water from your tap. to see what to regulate from.
2: Hydrocorrels/hydroton makes the grow media neutral instead of alkaline..
3 : measurre how many ml ph down you gonna need to get a 10L bucket of water to 5,7 and multiply with 5...

The converter Mr. Ganja posts only does the 442 conversion. There are two more conversions that should be considered depending on the instructions on the nutrient label.
