First Aerogarden Experience

Welcome ladies and gents, to my first grow journal.

First off I would like to give credit to Filthy Fletch for inspiring me to start this project.

Currently I am in the very early stage of growing and was seeking opinions, inputs, suggestions, etc, on what the best techniques are. Here is my current setup as of this morning.

Here is an overview of what I have so far. (I apologize in advance for the shitty quality, cell phone camera)
As you can see i have not yet cut the holes for the pots. These are 2 29Gal. tubs. Tub on the left is the Res. Tub on the right contains the sprinkler system.

Res with 535GPH pump.

Sprinkler system using 10 360* mister heads and a 323GPH pump to move the water back to the Res.

A closer look at the hoses between the tubs.

The main reason why the res is outside of the sprinkler system is for better water management IMO. The sprinkler tub can hold 3 gallons of water, and there can be 7 gallons in the res, obviously making the number of total gallons, 10 (easy number to work with). Also, i wont have to turn off the system to take measurements and/or readings, as well as adding nutrients.

I'm still trying to decide if I want this to be a 6 or an 8 plant station.

I also need some help with my grow "calendar". As far as, at what point do I add nutrients? How often do I change my water // nutes? Those kinds of things.

Will rain water do me any good? Monsoon season just hit and I have 4 10 gallon buckets outside full of rainwater in case it will help at all.

I'm going to need some help on what to do between when the seed first sprouts and when the rockwool cube goes into the pot. Lighting? Water? How often? At what point do they go into the tub?

One more thing, when I'm putting up mylar, would it be better to keep the Res outside of the mylar, away from the lamp and the heat it produces. Or should I keep them both inside the mylar?

Feel free to ask me any questions and bring on the constructive criticism!
