Maybe get one of those ph test kits that come with the drops. Pretty cheap alternative and it would be more accurate than what you have now. I think you can pick them up at the pet store.

That is what i have , the one where you add 3 drops and see what color it turns ,

its just the chart on the back of the dropper shows only in wholes , like ( 4.o - 5.0 - 6.0 - 7.0 - 8.0

So their for when i test it idk if its like 5.8 ,

i just have to get the color to be what its at 5.0 but not darker them 6.0 , since its not digital

Plants grow faster in Hydro. I have 3 foot tall plants budding now that I vegged for 20 days.

There is a learning curve and it sucks when things go wrong and you have to drain the system but once you get it dialed, it's more boring than complicated.

I'm not a hydro grower and dont know a damn thing either lol but that baby looks burnt to me. what ph is your water? did you let the chlorine evaporate before using it?

you want your water/feed between 5.5-6.3 not at 7.0 ish

what light source are you running?

sorry if i missed any info :leaf:

At first the cube was soaked with ph over 7 , but iv done soaked it real good with ph between 5 and 6 ( my tetser does not show the ..( point - like 5.8 )

I only have 1 26w cfl over it , iv grown plenty before ( soil of course and iv aways had the cfls about an inch or 2 above it and never had burning issues )

I know hydro is different then soil but does it matter with hydro how close your light is ?

I have an hps but im not using it , its gonna go under some t5`s if i can get it to survive

And what chlorine are you talking about ? i just used my tap water then i adjusted the ph with 1/4 nutes

Sorry if that was a stupid question lol

I dont think its gonna make , its 6 am right now and i just checked it

It was completely yellow , their was absolutely no new growth at all so i took it out

I will try again when i get back on monday

Also their was this slimy shit on the bottom of my res and on my pump , what is that algae ? fungi ? ect

What do i do in the future to take care of that ?

I wont be fucking with the water pump and pvc hook up no more

I will be only use the air pump and air stone once my new pump comes in

Will i have to worry about that slimy shit with just the air stone also ?

Much thanks you all

clean the res out with any all purpose cleaner and rinse good! fill the res up to about touching your net pots with tap water. take lid back off and add no nutes till first set of true leaves appear besides the little round ones at seed. ph the water and let the tap water set over night to release the chlorine to the air, will work even faster if you put in air stone and use your air pump to move the water. next day check ph again put your net pots in and start her up.for next res change just always have how ever many gallons your res is in milk jugs since your a micro grower like me. fill them up add 1/4 strength nutes to each gallon and let em sit over night with tops off. check and ph if needed then wait an hour and check again till right then can sit till next res change and can do this every time there after to be ready for your next changes or to top off your res and also you can have one jug with just ph'd tap water to top res off when low to keep from over fertilizing your crop. after starting nutes i always top off with ph'd water till mid of res change and then top off with nute water and check ph in a few hours then change res every 7 days since its smaller tote. be sure you res water temp is around 65-68 degrees and add 1/2 tsp of hydrogen peroxide per gallon to help keep root rot and slime away! some times i add a frozen baby bottled water to res on hot days to keep temps down but if you keep the temp at or around 68 and no light gets in res at all it shouldnt grow any algae.after a couple res changes you can try to up your nutes another 1/4 to make 1/2 tsp but i seem to never get over 1/2-1 tsp cause my res is so small at only 2 gallons in a 4 gallon tote. then when they get about a little before 1/2 size of your grow space height and start mixing 1/4 grow with 1/4 bloom nutes per gallon to change over to flower then next change start at 1/2 tsp just bloom nutes and increase gradually the same as before and be sure to leave em in total darkness for at least 16-24 hours before cutting light on for 12/12 to flower! this is what all ive learned on my first small 2 plant hydro grow as i have 12 other ladies in soil scrog as well. if it helps all started at same time and the 2 hydro plants are 2x bigger and im starting my 16-24 hour dark cycle tonight and will move into flower. sorry so long i just hope this helps mine are doing great no way to take pics right now but will start a journal next grow! good luck and if im doing something wrong they will let me and you know! lol. peace! :bigjoint:

Are there stones in there? Bubbles look big.

How much was that little pump? You sure you can't afford another one?

Yes i have 2 little air stones hooked to it

I also have a long little one but it was not aerating the water as much as the 2 little ones did

Its a 60 gal pump and was $16 , but thats why im asking what you all think because if its not strong enough i will send it back and order another one

their is a 100gal pump same model for $27 that i can end up getting if this one is to week

The air stones are just cheap ones from wal mart though ,

I use a 4 outlet 167 gallon pump to make 3 gallons compost tea. I own 3 of them and an 80 watt commercial pump. Air is your friend.

I would get the larger pump.

I would scratch the aerator and just go with a bunch of air stones... I 'm using DWC with a 50 gal rez and i have 4 micro bubble air stones and 2 air pumps and they work perfectly, haven't had any probems. If the water temp gets to gigh then I would suggest using the aerator but its not needed unless you are doing a full aeroponics system...

Yeah, mine is a bit bigger.

They are loud as hell. Until you hang it from a bungee cord. That quiets them up a bunch.

I grow in a micro cab and its hidden and i do not need a lot of noise
