First Attempt DWC

I am currently custructing a DWC system for just 1 plant and want to know if every thing sounds like if should work, as this is my first attempt at Hydro. Heres specs of Homemade bucket;

5 Gallon Bucket(Spraypainted Black)

A Drainage Valve and Fill Valve(So i dont have to open it)

A Water Level Indicatior(Again so i dont have to open it)

An Aquarium Air Pump and good Bubble Stone

6'' Net pot

Expanded clay pellets as grow medium; Oasis cubes to start.

Those are baisics of bucket, Growroom specs are;

2'2'' Length, 1'7'' Width, 4'6'' Height

175 W MH bulb

Good Exhaust / Ventalation / Cooling fans

Semi Gloss White walls; Reflects decent

And those Are baisics of growroom,

I have grown in soil before, and am nearing harvest with my latest crop, but have no previous hydro expierience. I have all the baisics(i think) and am sucessful with excellent soil grows and hope i find the expierience of hydro as exciting as soil. Any critisism or advice would be GREATLY appreciated

oh and i am planing on using GH Grow and GH Flores as nutes, any nute suggestions?

Hey Zach can you help me out? I am trying to do something very similar but in my planning on paper I've been running into some problems, mainly with height. If you have a 5 gallon bucket, a light with a reflector and a decent space of at least 1 foot b/t your light and crop, that leaves you with about ~2 feet of growth. How do you plan to grow that short? I assume that means SOG, but does even SOG grow this short?

That was also one of my questions, i was planing ong pruning the roots to control height but am inexpierienced in this, any help on the matter would be apreciated. If need be i can lower the floor level by 3-2 feet what wattage bulbs should be used for 1 plant, was planing on using 200 W MH and CFL's for Veg and hoping to buy a lower watt HPS(mines 1000) for flowering the beast
