First cfl grow full grow recorded(pics)

OK this is going to be my first grow. I am growing in my closet inside a 30gal Rubbermaid bin. I will post every day or everytime plants progress. Wish me luck!


DAY 0


HERE IS GROW BOX:






Here is it opening You can see the three 26 watt CFL's connected to the power cord!







Here it is opening more:





Now you can see the entire inside with the small cups which I have just planted seeds in. Also there is the small dan to cool it down and the two pairs of forked 42watt CFL's hanging down.:




There is DAY 0.

i would suggest getting some Lay flat from your local hydro shop and covering the inside walls of ur rubber maid with it, with the white side facing the inside of the box and black against the rubbermaid to reflect light back at your plants and reduce light shown through your setup, best of luck to you.

also when using photobucket copy the IMG code not the myspace style html code. ill post ur pics for u

Aluminum foil!

GLUE it to the plastic, get it smooth with a soft cloth. Try not to get glue on the shiny-side(the outside)! Glue the dull side to the surface.

Celebrate your ingenuity.

It also blocks all light from escaping if done right.

DAY 2:
Havnt quite sprouted yet.keeping light on 24hrs box did get a little hot but i opened it up a bit more. More tomorrow!

Day 2!

Still havnt sprouted but im gonna give it more time..still 24hr light temperature is in the 80s and just waiting to sprout..

nice set up, but there is no need to have lights on before they reach the surface. Waste of electricity. Also, that bin may become too small for the grow eventually, so i would plan out how you're going to raise those lights now so you arent all frantic when u need to move them.

Nice Setup , can't wait to see what you and your girls can do. I am also doing a CFL grow so feel free to drop in and leave a comment

Still no progress but just waiting to see those first little leaves. Thanks to all that comment....



p.s. do you really not need light until they reach the surface???? let me know asap!!

If your using CFLs and you want to run them 24/0 just leave them on since when they brake the serface they have light

DAY 6: Aight here is some pictures of the small plants and the grow box........

Kinda a slow start but o well....

i like the grow box but what u goin to do when they outgrow that box u gotta raise the lights...if i were u id go to lowes and buy some chain so u can hook it up to the ceiling so u can adjust ur lights when needed

well im going to get another rubbermaid bin and put it upside down and attach it the first one so the grow area is twice as tall. I will hang the lights from the second one using string as i have b4!!!

Well i realized that i have the last 3 posts in a row so not too many are interested lol. But the seedlings are looking good. The seeds I germed all have little roots coming out now in the paper towels which i will plant tomorrow. Also on two of my 3 seedlings there is a little yellowing going on, on the leaves so i thought it might be from the lights being too close so i moved them an inch further away.

Hope to see some ppl reply to my post. More pics to come!!!!

if they are the starting leafs but you have true set of leafs then that's natural.

Can't wiat to see more pics and I'm gonna be doing a mass seed planting later on today to
