First Colorado outdoor grow questions

Hello all. New to RIU. Im considering an outside grow this year and had a few questions for those who have successfully grown outdoors in CO, specifically the metro area. The area in my yard I'm considering to grow recieves approximately 5-6 hrs. of direct sunlight, the rest of the day it is partial to fully shaded. I plan on vegging inside, placing outside, and covering for 12hrs. to force flowering. I'm hoping by doing this, I can have several harvests from mid May (last frost) to fall. Question #1: Is the 5-6 hrs of direct sunlight followed by 5-6 of shaded sunlight enough for flowering, or must it all be direct? #2: when does the 12 hr. dark period technically start? Does it start as soon as the sun has went down and complete darkness has set in? #3: Im planning on using Subcools super soil. Has anybody have experience with supersoil outdoors in colorado, either by using directly in ground or in pots. Thanks in advance.

You don't need to dig or spend the money on Subcools soil. Start your seeds indoors using Fox Farm Light Warrior. Build a 3x3 ft x 6 in. raised bed for $8 out of untreated lumber. Fill it with four to five different brands of composted potting soil. Lightly feed them a dry organic fertilizer every 3-4months and invest in good irrigation with a timer. If you have strong winds install support stakes. Shouldn't cost more then $ 30-40 per plant.

You can use pvp tubing and plastic tarp to make a dome for your dark periods, but personally I wouldn't bother. If you want to harvest quickly fill a 4x4 raised bed with a dozen autos. For non autos just suck it up and grow the whole year. If anything buy indica since they finish earlier

I have plans to build a dome as you suggested. What about the question regarding the area I will be growing in and the light it recieves?

Lightning sounds fine. Cannabis requires "full sun" which means six or more hours of direct sunlight a say. Generally morning sun is better and to do that you want to position the plants on the south side of the "mountain" (house, trees, etc).

Dude subs soil only costs me 15 dollars max for each 10 gallon pot. U are suggesting something more expensive for sure. Also with super soil it's ONLY water no top dress. It's simple!

dude you live in colorado where its legal to grow.....just not outside. it has to be a covered build type to grow with locks and what not... im pretty sure you could use a greenhouse with a nice door and locks and still be legal. you just have to make sure its to code first. why would you grow outside in your yard and get in trouble when you can do it legally with just a few steps and extra dollars and not worry about it.

I wanted to do the same thing I live in co. The only thing to worry about is rippers.

My vote would be building a hoop greenhouse and framing the ends with 2x4 and locking door.
I also live in CO, and would love to grow outdoors again, but my housing situation keeps me stuck
indoors. :/

I also vote for subcool super soil, and have my premixed "nutes" already rationed.
Add 1bag + 10lb EWC + 3cf Roots Organics + 30days = Golden. :)
Just add water.

If you go the potted route I'd recommend getting Smart Pots. Best of luck!!
Love to see how it turns out!
