Me and my boyfriend started our first batch of plants on Feb. 14.
Here is the first week.

heres 2 weeks. these are the Blue Satellite.

And this is the mystery seed i got from my godmother she saved from the 80's... she called it Hawaiian Purple (supposedly it came from hawaii) But she gave me 2 dozen seeds and so far only 1 sprouted out of 12 and I'm trying another batch now.

and now the 4th week.

and this is the Hawaiian Purple seed. it looks like the 2nd pair of leave are really shriveled like their old. but the color is right. i would appreciate your 2 cents.

I'm keeping the soil moist, and its grown outdoors. I used the dirt from my backyard. But i've had really good luck with it just in my garden. I'm not planning on using any nutrients. any help?
thanks!

hey there,
im in nor cal and i just started so its fun to see other californians growing!
how do u know it is a female? ive actually heard the fastest growing are the males, but who knows. can you see the pistils yet?
if the hawaiian is shriveled, are you watering enough? is it really hot out? if the color starts to turn yellow it could be because its too hot or because it doesnt have enough water. anyways, i hope ur grow goes well...check out mine while youre at it!

the biggest i believe is a female.. and the purple is still deformed... some of the leaves are ok but most of them are a real trip... i water it the same the soil is always moist. and its not hot its just deformed...
heres pics... the purple is the last one. they where taken yesterday...

I'd appreciate the 2 cents.

looks good so far. keep up the water, and luv. dont be too sure a plant is female, until you see flowers. in my 7 Yr of growing, the 1st plant that looks biggest/healthiest, is the 1st male to flower. you might have the 1st plant to break the cycle, but dont bet the farm on it.
