just about to put my sprouted seeds in there small pots tonight! i am very excited! im using a 90 watt LED TRI band light. i have a small 4 inch fan in the top corner for circulation. Every thing will be in a grow box i made lined with silver inculating bubble wrap. the box is only 2.5 feet tall 2.5 feet long and 1.5 feet wide. So well see what i can do with this space. i have one afgan kush and one hindu kush. give me any pointers if posible!

sounds alright, personally i don't think the light will grow them out like they should be,you might wind up with some lanky, small bud plants..if they budd at all..you need some candle power to grow punta rojo...i would get at least a 400w mh/hps light for the space you have..if u plan on going bigger i'd get a 600w...the strains you picked are top notch..if grown right u will have some dank budd...

well im going to give it a shot ! The guy at the hydro store said this light will take 2 plants 5 + feet tall full of buds so im thinking with 2.5 feet i should be alright. im going to trim them and put a fence in there so they get busy and what not. if it goes well i will deffenetly be upgrading :D
thanks

I have a 90 watt UFO from htg, seems to be working pretty decent so far. 7 weeks since I starting using it, upgraded from T12s.
Is that MG soil you're using? I used MG for the first time this time around, not too happy with it, looking to hydro my next run.
Where did you get your UFO from?

well what is your plan for flowering? i dont know much about your light but i know u dont want to flower with it i think it might be a good light for clones and seedlings but not veg but we'll see i bet for the same price or cheaper u could get a t5 blue spectrum set up for vegg and than u need a 400w hps for flowering u will waste your time trying to grow from start to finish with that light and dont listen to the guys at the grow stores for advise too much they base they're sales off of the shit not selling in the store so of course he'll tell u it will work great try ocean farms soil or something else and what r u using for nutes?

I think a 400 watt HPS would be way too big and hot for dude's box, it is only 2.5' tall inside, and a total of 3.75 square feet, a 250 watt would be good for that area if he had more height clearance. I guess he could use a CoolTube w/ inline duct fan or something, but that 2.5 of clearance is not much, 30 inches.
I am using a 90 watt LED for flowering, and it is working just fine. It is the newest one, bought it just 3 months ago. The older Chinese ones are complete crap, and they still are out there, especially on Ebay. I still am not buying the "90 watt LED = 400 watt HPS", that is BS. A good 90 watt LED is equivalent to maybe 150 watt HPS, at best. But it does not put off a lot of heat, and it is plug and play, no ballasts or anything.
I've used T12s, metal halides, HPS, and now LED, if I have the room, I definitely like HPS the best.

Hi Crobman, I have used these UFO's n they do work but you may wanna think about putting some small CFL side lighting in there :) This will maximise the bandwidth and help assist you in your mission for bud! By all means you can flower in that box BUT be aware plants grow to 2 to 3 times their veg size, so bare that in mind when switching to flower. Also smell WILL be an issue for you :( I am sub'd tho :) good work so far - STELTHY :leaf:

I totally think you can flower in your box, I wouldn't let them veg for too long in that area though, 30" of height is not much, especially when you have to figure in the dimensions of the light, and the height of the flower pots. A screen would do that area well.

Were your seeds feminized?

For a small area like you have, a carbon filter is probably not necessary. An Ona block will work great. I use Ona blocks + a ozone generator on a timer, and never once used a carbon filter (over a period of 16 years of growing). And never have or had odor issues, and I also grow some pretty stinky plants in my main garden. I really do not need the ozone generator for the garden, but it helps with the smoking smells that linger around, and any other smells that me be hovering throughout...
