first grow and plant looks just awful

First time growing and i started off with a bagseed, a tiny walmart fan, and about $40. Plant is about a month old and its maybe 4-5 inches tall. Grow box is a home depot moving box with mylar lining. Its under 3 26w 6500k's and 2 5000k's, mg soil, one gallon pot, humidifier with ducting into box. Temps are 80 to 85 durring the day and about 70 at night. Rh is around 50 with lights on. I believe its an indica. Still cant tell sex. I flushed the soil pretty well to try to get the mg nutes out. It has probably 6 sets of leaves and i think 4 nodes. Does this seem too small for its age or am i just impatient? Let me know what you think.

Forgot to mention the plant went through a three day drought and the bottom leaves turned yellow and crispy so i cut them off. Will upload a newer pic soon.

N is a big key in plant growth Purpling in stream maybe? plus the mg soil is I believe mixed specifically when u water it kicks those prenutes and kinds of other bad shit In. Ur soil is probly to hot and burning the plant. U need to get better soil. coco is awesome shit. U give what the plant gets. Research more on growing a little more ur npk values. Someone way more experienced will come along and hit this shit on the nail right now I'm just taping at wat u can do better. Always room to learn and knowledge is power. Even the best grower has room to learn more tips and tricks everwhere just gott read these posts marked with a pin. Click on thoseand read away! Good Luck and happy growing :p:weed:

I think its over heated over nutes and your ph may need adjustment. As long as the heat stays below the 90s its not heat.

Definitely ph before doing anything, flushing the soil could make the problem worse. The top growth doesnt look so bad so try to be patient with it to see if the problem has been fixed. Im thinking your plant is having problems with moisture stress, fresh air is more importAnt than humidity so I would pop a fan in the ducting instead of a humidifier.
This will help with air movement and fresh air, cfls get hot and being that close to the plant causes transpiration issues.

first off your temps are high id drop them.. i never get over 78. thats high.. IMOP .. you can see by your leaves that the soil more than likely isn't really drying out well thats what keeps a lot of the plants stout. are you allowing the soil to go really dry before your next water? i mean almost bone dry? your you still have a ways to go .. heres some seeding shots in the really small 8oz solo cups.. probably about the same age. how old are yours? image1.JPG

im lost where do you see ph issues? i always preach ph to everyone and this is the first person thats not showing ph issues yet... he has leaves discoloring from the soil being wet and cold... his veins are pronounced from cold wet soil for long periods.. so I'm lost on where this ph issue is.

so what I'm assuming is happening is he may have high temps in his grow but where ever he's keeping it at is cold at night and the cold is getting the soil so cold that even the high day temps isn't raising the wet soil temps fast enough... which is creating his slow growth .. purple leaves .. pronounced veins and he's not letting the soil dry properly between waters which is creating the drag on his leaves... but all the above is due to the soil not drying properly..and the soil being too cold after lights kick off. i have to assume the setup is somewhere cold like a basement, closet, or garage or touching a cement or unpadded floor. am i right ACZ?

Just telling him to check his ph before doing anything crazy other than that I think we are around the same page on this one. Just lazy grammar on my part by not typing check ph first and saying to ph.

and if its not somewhere cold then you have to be watering it before the soil actually dries.. but even if you have your setup in a house thats say 72.. at night the soil temp with no lights on will drop around 10-15 degrees although your air temp is 72 the air on your ground is much cooler.. your using CFL which in a small environment creates heat but doesnt heat the soil to certain depths... its not like having a 100w hailed above it kicking heat hot enough to lightly warm a floor. so that cfl although its creating heat its not heating the soil

im glad you just said something on the board.. i went and looked at your last message about pulling the humidifier... .

ACZ WTF are you doing?!?! your pumping humidity in the box? that explains the wet soil and all the shit i listed above.. take the humidifier out you don't need it!!! thats more than likely the largest culprit to all this .. but it makes sense now why your showing so many moist soil issues.

Yeah im still a noob myself so I just kinda hang around and read what you, uncle Ben, and rm3 write for the most part. There's a lot of misinformation on this site so I try to keep my mouth shut and learn from those who know. I only try to post if someone really needs help and is getting the same old calmag answer.

You guys are for sure right on the over watering. Its at a friends house and he never pays attention to the watering schedule that i give him. He waters almost every other day. And should i take out the humidifier since its past the seedling stage? I could add another fan where that used to be. Do i really need to pay attention to humidity now? Without the humidifier itll stay at about 40 rh. Ill take all the tips and criticism you can give me. Ps, i got a couple more seeds germanating so i can test the waters with different soil with these ones. Will have more pics soon. Those are from 5 days ago

Yes indeed take that humidifier out of the equation have one fan pulling fresh air in, and one pushing stale air out. Plz use different soil! Don't feed any nutes during seedling stage, let soil dry at least to top of ur first crese in ur knuckle. Then just water till u see slight run off. When u see the little seedling leaves yellow and die away u can start 1/4 strength veg nutes. This is where ur NPK values come in. Great stuff to get down and understand!

Would it be worth it to transplant even though its already been in mg for a month?

Try n get all roots up and rinse them off real well then t plant in different soil it's gonna look like hell if it dose take but it's gonna take a while to gerth back up ur best bet really since it's just bag shwag start new with ur other ones in different soil No MG it will keep giving u problems if u keep using it unless ur quite experienced with growing with it but in many opinions mine as well MG Is garbage. Hell garbage is probly better lol no but start new all u can do is learn from ur mistakes

HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE TWO HARVESTS AGO.

First everyone is rite about the heat. You will definitely need mpre light and a transplant of course. Rule of thumb 1 gallon per foot of plant and the plant doubles in size from the start of thr flowering cycle to ripening. So a 12" plant ready to bud would need a two gallon bucket.

And no real ph issue. Good soil is an excellent buffer. Thats why outdoor works. You cant ph rain yourself.
Just dont get ridiculous like 9ph or 2ph.

So less heat. Try lighwarrior soil from foxfarm, and test ur runoff ph. Should be about 4 or 5. If its off then flush till the runoff matches ur original water.

finally some one mentioned what the real problem is.mirical grow has slow release amends in it and it is for use with veggies, repot that bitch in some other soil medium doesnt matter what kind ,just make sure it doesnt have time release nutes in it,look for soil that has micro and macro and very little to no salt in soil, dont forget myccrohizae or however it is spelled ,that will help root zone, also if you dont get that heat under control you are going to hermie who ever said 90 was ok must be using co2 ,i dont let my girls get hotter than 80 with 55 to 65 humidity,if outside get some sun cloth to help with heat , outside you dont have much choice with heat. anyway repot it in good soil ,watch your heat and pamper it ,i also have another tip for you instead of picking up your pots lean them ,if you have a empty pot fill with same medium and lean it towards you and feel the wheight, then water the pot and feel the difference when just watered you then will no when to water, hope this helps friend

Old sholv4er is rite. The mg is a slow release and probably the worst choice of soil. And i would buy the mychorrizae separately. The soil will say that it is already in there. But 90% of the time u.need more than wat is there

no he's not right and neither are you.. MY FUCKING GOD ... is weed some magical goddamn plant that need some special chemical regimens that basic fertilizers don't supply??? wheres your guy's head at it has something to do with "slow release magnesium" all this bad information your giving fucks peoples grows up... if you don't know what your talking about sit back read and learn... don't give input thats incorrect or your guessing on.
if he planted in miracle grow soil he would have been fine with no issues in veg at all had he properly watered.. not over humidified the air he wouldn't even be on the board.. and no one would be downing the use of miracle grow soil... I'm so lost on why people think weed is this fucking ultra rare plant that requires all these special things to grow and can't grow in certain potting soil.. its bs .. i mean your sitting here telling him to get out of salts and time release soils.. ocean forest carries a shit load of salts and theres amendments in there that last up to 3-4 months.. so whats the difference? other than miracle grow isn't a origanically amended soil.
