First grow! Are my plants too small...

Hey guys I'm new here and I have need some simple advice. My babies are about 3 1/2 weeks from sprout and the look very healthy and are growing well but they're bushing out witch I like but they're not doing much vertically.... The strain is THC Bomb from Bomb Seeds NL, and they're under a 600w MH. The plan is to veg them out for about 8 weeks then then I wanna take them into flowering to sex them (hopefully I get full females) then cut them up to make clones and keep them as mothers. But I'm not seeing much vertical growth... I guess What I'm trying to say is being that these girls' only purpose in life is to grow big and tall to get cut up, do I want a taller more lanky plant to be a mother, or is my short bushy plant just fine and I'm worrying about it too much? Any advice from more experienced will be appreciated thanks!

mothers need to be bushy. not lanky and tall. your plants look fine. you'll be transplanting into larger containers soon. then they'll grow a little faster.

Try transplanting, indica dominant tends to bush out more and vertical growth is slower. Depends on wether or not you want bushy compact plants or tall stretchy ones. Bushier plants are also more compact with flowering site, giving longer/compact colas depending on how big you get them.

Honestly your worrying a bit too much about it right now, I'd probably wait a while before worrying about cloning. Your gonna want to use the bushier plant as the mother though long and lengthy isn't a good trait for an indica dom

Thanks for reassuring me! Lol I thought for a minute there someone sold me some tomato seeds or something. I tried growing before from bag seed (most of the bag seed her is sativa dominant) so I'm used to seeing them a bit taller and lankier at this age. I have a 12 inch oscillating fan on them to thicken up their stalks and I will be transplanting them monday to 3 gallon mop buckets hempy style.

bomb thc is an amazing strain man. i want to grow it as my main crop. i also want jack herer by green seed company (haze x skunk) powerful, bushy, short, and quick.

they look good. transplant to final pot soon. 8 weeks is a long veg, i hope you have the space. you would also need 3 gallon pots or bigger, or else youre just wasting your time.

when plants get rootbound, you can compensate by over feeding.

if you want to clone, do it soon. there the most growth auxins/hormones in young vegging plants.

That is NOT true.
Overfeeding will in NO way compensate for your ladies becoming rootbound.

then how the hell do you do this?

bmeat, that looks to be a very small (but very nice looking) plant judging from how big the cup is as a reference.
Have you looked at the party cup growing thread? That thread(although it was just a friendly competition) should show you a little something.
I can tell you right now that overfeeding your plant is NEVER a good thing. It will cause a whole lot of problems in doing so, such as nute burn. Overfeeding WHILE your plant is rootbound will probably cause it to go into a state of shock.
Overwatered/drowned, nuteburned, rootbound, AND shocked? That doesn't seem like a nice combination does it?

Nah your right. but why does it start to die off because there's not enough food in the soil or because they're all tangled up? if its becuase its sucking the life out of the soil, you could compensate with extra food.

Root bound is why. Simply take em out of cup and do a light trim put em back I and there back in action

I love THC Bomb I want it to be my main crop too, in fact I love it so much I want to make more of it through cloning. I'm gonna transplant them to 3 gallon buckets tomorrow. Also thanks puffnuff I have done enough research to know that, that's not how you handle a root bound plant lol... Also I do wanna know about how many cuttings can I take off a plant? I wanna take 5 off each to thave 10 plants for my 5x5 grow space, would that be possible or am I a little too ambitious?

Well, rootbound is just that, roots getting tangled up from the lack of space to grow.
You know, I'm glad you're starting to ask questions now. Just for future reference, if you don't know the correct answer, don't just say what you THINK you know.

10 plants is doeable, but that all depends on how big your mother is.

Thats why I wanna veg for 8 weeks so I can have a "Big Mama" like Martin Lawrence lol hump: ... Or have them both big enough that if one of these babies go hermie that I can take 10 cuttings off one of them...

I don't get it why would it be an insult? 10 plants is doeable, but that all depends on how big your mother is.
Your momma joke? You know, your momma is so big... Well, it made me chuckle when I read it. As far as this RIU forum, Crankyxr's reply "10 plants is doeable, but that all depends on how big your mother is." is absolutely sound advice. I would give the plant time to adjust to transplanting first and pull the clones over a couple days. Sorry, didn't mean to confuse you there. My humor gets the best of me.
