First grow - bag seed x8 - CFL - 4x4x4 cab or 3x3x3

k got it. thanks matt! i will probably just keep on doing what im doing as far as the light schedule and not checking on them during the day. its been real cold here, so if i switch the light cycle it may get below freezing at night. plus it will stress them out.

so i am thinking what i saw develop on the one big one MAY be a female preflower. it also MAY have a ball forming. this would make it a hermie. i will obviously keep that one in the flower cab for now, but im guessing if its a hermie it wont be worth finishing correct?

still have high hopes for the 2 smaller ones. those vegged correctly with no initial stress, stretch, or burning. much less likely to be stressed into malehood (possible?) or hermiehood.

Blah, that blows with all the males. Like matt said - try not to expose the plants to any light during the lights off phase of flowering. If it turns out that the beans I made last run are feminized (should know within a week) I'll throw a few your direction. Not at all any fun to have so many amazingly healthy plants all end up males.

i will take both of u up on those offers...for now just going to see what happens with what i got! will keep ya posted. will try n take pics later tonight of whats left in the flower cab to try and sex. definitely want some help, although every time i look at the 5 i have taken out so far, i am more convinced they are definitely males.

I grew 4 plants with about 500W worth of lights with 10 seperate cfl's and the buds turned out extremely fluffy and very light to the point where unless your gunna use HPS or MH then your not gunna be able to yield ideal buds with cfl lighting. I also used ideal bulbs for the stage of growth with still no extreme success. Will it grow? yes. Can u smoke what u grow? of course. But it isnt gunna be the same quality you would get from an ideal setup. What im saying is dont set yourself up to do a whole bunch of work then get dissapointed with a product u cant be proud to say u grew it. Many beginners unfortunatly have to go through this like I have to realize cutting corners isn't worth the time it takes or the little money u save/spend on it.

i just grew out 2 plants and while i had them under the CFL 1 plant had nice dense nugz and the other had really fluffy nigs. i thought the fluffy one would straighten out once u put it under the HPS but it didnt. sometimes its just genetics. CFL can grow just fine buds as long as you have enough of them wich he does.

that being said, matt i totally hear ya man. lol sometimes u get dense, sometimes u get fluffy, SOMETIMES YOU GET ALL MALES! lol...

im excited for tonight to see any more development on my females. i will need to clone soon. i would love step by step recommendations...have a few questions tho. how many clones can i take per plant? obviously i can't take a fan leaf (the leaf with the typical MJ layout) clones correct? have to take the ones with a growing top? mostly concerned with how many i can take, i guess per week...i was thinking/hoping for at least 2 clones a week.

here's my so far plan

1. prepare smaller pots with well draining soil.
2. cut cleanly a top about 2 inches from the top
3. skin the bottom lil bit with a razor
4. dip in clonex gel
5. stick in small pot, put pot into veg cab

is a humidity dome necessary? if the pots are well watered the humidity will be up pretty high, and the temp will b around 75...

humidity dome is not necessary just make sure your misting them frequently, wich also is not necessary so to say but it helps

you can take a clone from any branch, preferably lower branches as they wont yeild big budz anyways. lemme see if i can scrounge up a decent pic and edit it to show ya

you want to smaller lower branches. this vid is pretty good

you can pick up some insulation at hm depot it is shinny like foil and has a sticky back to line box with if i remenber right it was about 16.00 for a good sized roll, i have it in my box 3/3 and it works very well,u also might try a digital water meter i use one but i also go by the waight of the pot you cant be to careful,and u sure dont want to over water

the videos are awesome matt! just spent the last half hour learning how to clone! lol...im excited for 6 tonight. want to check and see if that supposed female is developing any balls. and check on the other one. im thinking about taking down all my males soon. paper bagging em to dry. then all i need is those two to be female and i will start cloning like crazy!

like i said save the males for making hash if you can get you hands on some dry ice then go that route with them and get a bit of hash to smoke while you wait for clones. i dont think males are really worth all the trouble of cold water hash, maybe some iso oil extraction

yeah i am keeping em just need to get them out of the soil and pots theyre in for when the clones get bigger. no rush on THAT obviously...lol
