i just finished germinating a seed, and things went along nicely so far. I just checked up on it and 1 of the 4 i was germinating had cracked a bit and a little white thread like thing was hanging out. So I put it into a small pot with some basic nutrients and some decent soil. However I plan to use vegetable compost when I transplant to a bigger pot. Does vegetable compost have the right nutrients? And do you think the seed had finished on the count of the white thing, which I think is the root, that came out, or should I have waited until the root was more prominent. They've been germinating for a little over 48 hours.

I wait until the tap root is 1 cm long before planting. I wouldnt use nutrients until the seedlings 2 weeks old. Ive been geminating my seeds for 3 days and they have only just started to crack its to cold i had to put them on my sky box for some heat. goog luck

I agree with Mike257. You shouldnt be putting any nutrients into your soil at this stage. This could shock the poor thing.

alright thanks i won't add no more nutrients until it breaks the surface and grows a little bit. I left the other 3 seeds germinating in case i mess up with this one so it's all good. cause I'm only gonna end up growing one of them to maturity, Just for experience. it would be a bonus if the plant turned out female though.
