So. This is my first grow. I germed 12 seeds in towel paper inside a ziploc bag that was partially left open. 4 cracked 2 survived. I germed them for 4 full days under a 40 watt incandescent soft white bulb under my stove's rangehood.
I put the sprouts in 16 oz. plastic cups filled with MG (the one for herbs) and started them under TWO 100 Watt (26 actual watts) 5600k Daylight CFLs from GE. 2 of the 4 seeds did not break soil, I dug them up and they were rotten. The 2 that made it are AWESOME.
It has only been 6 days and they have made a lot of progress. PICS BELOW!!!
They have been under light for 24/7, atleast for the first week. Tomorrow I will set the lights to 18/6. Any suggestions on leaving them 24/0 for another week?
They have not had any nutes other than what's already in the MG, I will start nutes at 14 days. Temps have been anywhere from 75 - 90 degrees. The first girl's leaves started showing burn signs within 2-3 days. I bought a thermometer and the heat was close to 90. I moved the lights up a little, took the reflectors off and I am using the frozen bottle of water trick to keep temps cool, Since I put the ice in there temps have kept around 77 - 82. I do not have a fan at the moment but am getting one within a day or two, just a small 10 dollar desk fan from office depot.
I know you guys are going to want specs and demensions for my room. it is a walkin closet probably 3.5' X 7' X 12' (vaulted ceiling) the plants are on a dresser with the clamp lights hooked to the clothesline keaping the lights about 8" to 1 foot away from the tops of the plants. I plan on moving them closer when I get a fan and can keap temps at what they are now 77 - 82. Well Wednesday morning will be ONE full week since they've been in soil.
ANY suggestions, criticism is welcome.
