so, in the interest in giving my all to the competition, i've added four 42 watt cfls to the sides of my plant to help a couple of lower growth tips on the side of the plants away from the mylar. note for next grow - make movable wall of mylar or lights to use from the start.

now have 600 watt hps plus 168 watts cfl on 2 females in 6 square ft of space. with hps at 100 lumens per watt and cfl at 60 lumens that gives me 13,000 lumens per square ft (do you just add lumens or is there some dumb formula?? do i use sq ft of plant or effective square ft of light to measeure lumens per squre ft?) compared to sunlight of 10,000

Wow, Im not the mathematician you are, I have a 4x4x7 hut with ten S.S.H. and three GDP. I have the 1000wt HPS. I took the other 6 GDP and 1 N.L. and 1 Cyber put them in the closet 2x3 1/2 400 wt HPS. I wanted more light on them individually so they should really fill out now. They were all tied up in bundles now they are wide open!

i was told it was normal for the yellowing to occur this late in flowering - end of week 6 on an 8 week flower strain. not really worried as the colas are going strong.

Same here,Some yellowing is o.k. I did feed them last night, and today I just watered!! Look healthy and strong! I will be giving them two more feedings of nutrients and then water the last two and weeks, They are a ten week strain but you can pick at eight..I shall see.. the temp is 82.3 in there this evening with humidity at 48% they have great circulation and The light is about 14 inches above them..They were watered with a P.H. of 6.0. I go by weight of pot as far as how much..They like to get almost dry before being watered again (S.S.H.) the rest like to be a little moist..
The N.L. is my baby, I got her in Feb from a Disp, I had it in hydro, then put her in a bucket outside for a month,She got some bugs in the soil so I transplanted in the 2 gallon and look at her now 28 inches and the stalk is as big as my thumb, With 3 side Kolas and 1 Main Kola..I have two clones from her Im going to mother..
The Cyber Crystal is fruity smelling and very pretty..Slow though..
The GDP are very main Kola type plants and smell like a gum,Very sweet and yummy, You just want to eat it!!!

What your were told was spot on.For some reason I didn't think you were that far a long my bad. In the later weeks of flower, the plant is going to stop producing green chlorophyll. The chlorophyll that is in the leafs already will be breaking down in to sugars.
Those colas are going strong man.:bigjoint:

Desertrat, Nice journal and beautiful plants man. I am fixing to be on my first grow, I have read your journal from start to finish twice, it is encouraging to me because I have a small closet that is about 6 square feet and I wasn't sure how much I would get from such a small space. You say you only got two females from this grow, so in all your pics, there are only two plants in the pics ??? Do you think you could have gotten three or four plants in a 6 square foot space or do you think 2 plants would be the max ?? Thanks for any advice, I'm doing "advanced research", I still gotta empty the closet so when I say I'm at the beginning stages, I REALLY mean I'm at the beginning. Still gotta clean the closet out and buy materials. Again, great journal, keep the pics coming. ++reps given.

yes, two females. how many plants so depends on strain. i had a relatively small indica blend that was advertised to grow only 26 inches (liars, they're already 32") tall. i topped and pruned them to grow wider because i was using a 600 watt hps and didn;t want to waste the usable space. still 6 square ft is pretty tight. in theory you could get 6 12" pots in the space but unless you are growing tall and thin then that's too tight.
