first grow journal. WW

k so its the end of the 9th full week since i planted my mom, the two clones i took in peat pellets are good, the one that rooted has grown alot, the other one still shows no sign of rooting yet... but untill it starts taking up space i have no reason to rush it. the two bubblegum sprouts are doing well, the first leaf set on the one in the first pic got a tiny bit singed when i first took it out of the dome and under mom, so the leaves arent as big as the second ones, but they are about even besides that.

the other day a buddy of mine found about 5 Aerogarden3 units at yonkers... lol... 50 each marked down from 130... good deal. n e way, he gave me one to check out. i took the 3 biggest clones i could off of my mom (about 5-6 inches, at least 6 nodes, not including the top bundle. that was at about 2 in the morning 3 days ago, i woke up at 2pm the next day and checked it, they were all really droopy, sagging alot in the top and all of the leaves droopin bad. i figured this may happen due to lack of a dome over it and maybe the light was too intence.(THANK YOU GOTOT!!). i really didnt want to waste the best clones i could have taken, so i found the only thing that would fit over it, a thin, solid white bucket from the holiday in, it lets some light through and keeps enough humidity in, after about 2.5 hours with the dome on em they stood right up, the last one is them in they AG. i have all the cfls from the beggining of this thread for when they get too big and hell i might just break out the tote again, is long as these for sure root and now that i have done a successfull clone it really taught me alot.

alright i just decided im going to fim my clone, its the perfect hight and amount of nodes. then after it grows outa bit ill start to LST it.

<newb....what does fim, and LST mean...

fim is a technique used while topping to creat more than just two top shoots like normal topping, when you fim you have a possability of 3,4 sometimes more tops.

LST is tying down branches to give the lower growth more light, so it will grow more like a bush than a tree. what i did with my mother is kindof LST, i did it way too late but it still worked out great, see how my mom looks like a bunch of small plants in a one plant sized area?

(happy 420...at least it is where im at(eastern)...so do you tie the branches down to its own stalk...goin upwards...that way it lets the light in....if so then i gotcha...(i tryed to explain something like that to a friend, but he was saying that its not possible to MAKE a plant grow more bushy instead of tall...((he also thinks that its impossible to "force" the plant into the flowering stage((by cutting back light..right..)))

what are you talking about haters? who was hatin on me? maybe some oppinions, but idk... some people just dont take into consideration that i take most of the pics right after i do whatever i do in them, and that it takes a while to see good results, but i have great results after what i have done so whatever haters be hatin about has been in one ear and out the other so to say...

your friend could really use some informing... the part of the plant that gets more light will grow more, if you bend a plant over by tying the top to the side of the pot so it makes it bend all the way over, all of the branches in direct sunlight will grow up as the main top or tops, when they get as big on one side as the plant is tall, switch to the other side, bend it the oposite way so that the branches on the other side that havent been getting light get light they will grow up more too, once they are the same size as the ones on the other side they will all be as far out to the sides as the whole plant will be tall. if the top doesnt get direct light it stops being the top and the other branches reach for top position.

and it is kinda true that you cant force sex, but thats only right out of the seed, as soon as that little seedling developes 5 fingers on the leaves its mature enough to flower...

k so i forgot to meantion that when all my clones failed, i started supercroping my mother as well, so she has been topped, LSTd, and supercroped.
it has healed since the first supercroping and has grown alot and very healthy, today i supercroped again, but only the branches that were overgrowing the rest of the branches. it was about 4 branches this time, about 10 the first time.

alright so last night my buddy that gave me the AG3 tells me he has 3 more, and 2 other ones waiting for him at the store, so 6 all together, anyway he gave me another one, all i have to do is give him one or two of the clones that root from each batch... but thats cool, the AGs are expensive.

so i set up the new one last night, took 3 more clones all about the same size, but smaller than the first batch, im keepin the first batch for me. hell i might just give him the whole second batch... anyway, heres some pics i took. oh and i found another one of those buckets in my house... lol... so that worked out nicely

fuckin AG... the new one i got just fried the bulb, didnt egnite and then fried and smoked... but i have a few of the plug in bulbs from the older AG7... i wish i had a res for that thing too...

k got replacment bulbs and a salad kit for clones later.

i want to flower my mother kinda, it wasnt meant to be a mother but as it grew so did my curiosity, so one thing lead to another. i now have 6 clones in the AG3s, 2 clones in soil, 2 bubble gum seedlings, and my friend just gave me a cracked sour d seed, 1/4 inch of root when he gave it to me... kinda sucks that it was already cracked, i dont have much more space, i have space for it now in the rest of germ and through seedlking but as soon as i transplant it wont have anywere to sit...

what im thinking: ill put the sour d, and the bigger clone in soil in a space, i will maker room... under some cfls. flower my mother, the smaller clone and the two small bubblegums. after the 2 months of flowering the other clones should have grown enough to throw in there with the bigger clone and the sour d. mind you i have to give half of the clones to a buddy.

so flower mom, small clone and bubbles. have the bigger clone and the sour d under cfls and the clones i have in AGs in the AGs, with more lights over them. after the flowering ones are done throw the clone and the sour d into flower along with the clones in the AGs.

what dose anyone think? im going to make a poll too.

alright been a while. i got my gf to give me the other side of the closet, i moved the 2 bubblegums over to the other side with the AG units. i only have my mother and the 2 clones in soil under my 400w now. moms lovin the extra space.

im planing on starting my flowering phase by the end of this week. i will be flowering what is under my 400w already.

heres some pics, the first 3 are the bigger clone right when i started LSTing it. the others were taken when i changed everything around. my cat knocked my fan over on the bigger LSTd clone, broke off the top and 2 of the bigger branches... it was sad.

mmmmmmmk.... well i guess that didnt work?... it knocked off the first 4 pics... guess it was too much... heres the first 4 that got knocked off.

no unfortunately, im nearly out of room for mommy, i have to start flowering soon or it will just keep growing and growing, idk if ill have enough room in my closet at this point. its about 5 feet tall and the plant right now stands 2.25 feet. and i kinda need to keep my 400w at least 1.5 to 2 feet away from it... so idk... i have like a foot to work with right now, and the clones are as big as mom now, hight wise.

so lets hope they dont grow toooooo much higher durring flowering... but i know its going to...

Your definately will need to tie them down during flowering.

my light is fucking with me! last night when i got home it was trying to ignite like it was unplugged and pluged right back in without cooling down, after an hour it did it again. now i woke up this morning and it wont even ignite, not a flicker. the ballast still humms but thats it, does anyone have any idea whats wrong? has this ever happened to anyone?
