First Grow - LED 135w UFO grow box

Hello everyone.

I'm pretty new in this forum, and this is my frist grow experience. I've already read some stuff and aquired a grow box, which I think can be a nice start for now. Also, I'd like to say I'm Brazilian, so I apologize in advance for any mistake and hope you don't mind some spelling mistakes or so. Now I'll present you my equipment.

- Grow box size: 3'11" high. Both width and depth are 1'11" long

- Light: UFO 6 Band 135W LED Light

- Soil: 40% Sunshine Mix (Inert) + 10% Worm composting + 10% vermiculite + 30% perlite + Fertilizers (I don't know which ones yet) after 2nd week.

- Extra equip:
6" Inline duct fan
Timer
Termo-higrometer
Small fan (just to start vegetative stage)

Now talking about the seeds and my growing ideas.

I would like to know your opinion on which strains are the best to grow here in Brazil. I'll tell you that right now in the summer temperatures go up to 100 degrees during the day. This is a big issue to grow marihuana, because the plant just can't stand these temperatures and there's no cooltube that makes temperatures go close to the acceptable. The bright side is summer is just about to end, and temperatures will go down.

My intentions right now are to show you what I've got and get more information to minimize my mistakes and make the necessary ajustments to the growing area.

I'll start the growing process in March, and hope you all help giving your opinion.

I have some pictures of my Grox Box and some of my actual first grow experience, with bag seeds, which was a mess. I guess it was because of the high temperatures, but if anything else pops to your minds, let me know.

Here are the pics of the ladies, which I couldn't attach to the topic.
Information: The first 2 plants are 2 week old. The last one is 4 day old. I've noticed the cotyledons completaly demaged, even in the youngest one (it's yellow) and the purple stems. They responded well to the germination process. When they were 2 cm. long, I transplanted them into inert soil (50% sunshine mix. 50% perlite). From that on, they were kept under oscilating temperatures (70 degrees during night with air conditioner and 95 during day. I know it's pretty bad). Also, I think that the two first are too tiny for 2 week old. Anyway, I'm here to learn.

Hey, guys.

Just to update things a lilttle. I have noticed that some yellowing tips are showing up on the older leaves of the biggest plant (photo 2). I hope that's nothing serious, although I guess it's not normal. Do you have any idea what it can be? Also, I would like to say that I'm still trying to save these ladies. I'm going to restart the grow project in March, but these ones are alive and need help.

Update: I have changed the lights now for CFLs. There's 80W in the tent. That's just to keep the ladies up even under slow growth. This change was just to see if they do better under CFLs on the seedling stage, which they all are. What do you think about the change? Should I keep the LED light? I wonder if it's not too much just for a small plant. I keep CFLs much closer than LEDs though.

Stick with the led and drop it to like 2 ft above plant.that's only like 100 true watts and seedlings flourish under led. That last one looks like it was damaged. Missing a leaf. The others are on point imo

all information in this post is purely fictional and must be taken as such.

Thanks for the reply, packetloss314.

I'll put back the LED then. And about the plant, the other leave isn't missing, it's just a little late compared to the other one.

Looks like the seed shell has not popped off?

Anything written above can only be considered the rambling on of a belligerent old fool who has created a magical land in his mind where he is an amazing marijuana cultivator. all pictures and information have been stolen from the "worldwide web"
