first grow need help.

im just really confused im reading different answers in the forums and i would just like to get a clear answer so i could not worry if im doing anything wrong. i just planted today my seeds in a seed starter kit with a heating mat and a humidity dome on it and i read that its best to remove the dome once a first pair of leaves arrive is that true? also i wont have my lights come in till tuesday and i know thats bad but they sent me the wrong one and had to mail it back. so once the seed sprouts i know they need light and i need help figuring out what to do. i was thinking about just placing the seed starter kit near my window till i get the light in. would that work ? i just wudnt want my seedling to go wrong. they havent sprouted yet i just placed today so any advice on what i could do till i have my lights up and running im not trying go out and buy another light kit so i would have to work with what i could use at my house so hopefully natural light is a good choice till i get my light just need to know if that would be a good idea ?

I would go to a local hardware store or Walmart or something similar and get a cfl, it does not have to have alot of wattage as long as it it not going to be a long time before you get the proper light (you might even happen to have a cfl bulb sitting around the house). Make sure to put it above the plant, I would say no more than 3 inches above the top. If you do not have any laying around the house and/or you cant afford or just dont have the ability to get a cfl (which at the Walmart by me they sell the 26w Cfls for a little over a dollar), then I would definitely try to make sure that they are in an area that gets a good amount of sunlight. Personally I have had seedlings that came up sitting on my dresser in my room with only indirect sunlight but they were only there less than 2 days before I had them under a proper light.

You need one of these 150 watt bad boys to start out.. Getthe 5000k to start

You can easily sprout seeds between 2 folded paper towls, just keep it moist a few days, they'll sprout.
When you ut in starter cups, make sure you have drainage holes and keep lights close like 2"...
Good luck! Read the Grow bible listed in my signature, you'll get there!

Yes those are good high powered CFL's

Don't put CFL's 2" from seedlings that just popped ground...especially that 150watt monster CFL...the light is too intense at that young of an age...start it off higher, seedlings don't need much for light to start with, and bring the height down over the first week and a half.

they should be fine by the window for a few days. but like mentioned earlier you can use a couple of CFLs until your lights get there

Thanks everyone i will take that into consideration. today i woke up just now and looked at the kit removed the humidity dome and left the heating pad since its winter here and i didnt see any difference in the seeds overnight. is that fine does it usally take longer for the germinating process or did they fail and not sprout ? i also dont know if i used too much water or not enough. the tray under the plugs have like less then a inch of water high am i safe like that?

im going to be using a bubble boy dwc for each plant and no i just added the seeds to the plugs in the starter kit and added water and the heated mat and dome and am waiting for them to sprout.

Keep waiting, they'll come. The plant's been doing it for several million years.
They should sell patience at the grow shop! lol! I know I need some!

heres what they look like.

please help and let me know if im fine.
You should be good. If you are still worried I would post pics every couple days and I am sure people will chime in. Next time tho I would germinate them til they have a tail then stick them down in the plugs.
