First grow, noob question about Vipaspectra 300 LED

Hey everyone,

Really excited to be part of this forum and also excited to start my first grow.

I am going to be growing in a 4 X 2 Vivosun tent, and right now i have TWO 300W Viparspectra lights in there.

1- DO these lights have enough RED spectrum? I keep reading stuff all over the place and that i might need to supplement.
2- How many plants should i be growing in this tent with these two lights? 4? 6?

P.S. Some info about me. I am 26 and smoke for a really bad nerve compression in my back :/ I am hoping to be able to bring in a 4-5 ounces if possible per harvest with proper plant nutrition and training. Which may be impossible for my setup, but i am hoping to learn!

I'm in a 36x20x62in tent with a couple Silver Widows under a VS300w. I had some user errors in the beginning, but they're clicking right along now. I'm using a single 300 (147 actual, I think) for the veg, then adding a second 300 for flower. I think it's gonna be OK, but certainly not ideal. But it's on hand, so.... I'm growing up into a SCROG screen, and am keeping my expectations reasonable. If I can pull 1.5-2.0oz per plant I'll consider a it a hella success.

I think after this grow I'm looking hard at converting to cob. But in any case, YES, they'll work, but not ideal.

Interesting.

I wonder what a good light setup would be for a 4 X 2 tent with 4 plants. I have the money to spend, just not enough knowledge yet to choose :/ I thought the Viparspectra's would have been good, which is why i got them. But after days of researching and reading, it seems i could have done better, maybe with Galaxyhydros or something.

Don't get me wrong, they'll work fine. But fine isn't why you, I, or any other person gives this hobby attention. Its all about excellence, and compared to a 1k HPS, well...

Yeah man for sure. Olive drab has convinced me to grab some tasty cob lights. Just deciding on which one or how many.

Doing great so far for me but I also have a 300 watt Mars which is pretty much all pinkish red lighting.

What those cats are doing with cob and quantum boards is pretty amazing. They're yeilding like an HID, but cheaper and cooler. The efficiency numbers keep getting better and better.

It's the fucking bees knees.

Yeah man i was checking it out! I figure why not do things right and just get a good light now for my needs.

Everyone seems to be raving about COBS and i had never even heard of them before.

Now if i could just find a place to buy seeds that ships to the US and doesn't have dogshit reviews and the strains i am looking for :/

I wanted to order from nirvana but their credit card system is down.

You're right better to just invest in a good light.
