First Grow-Pineapple Express+Cali Hash-Any advice/tips appreciated

Hey guys, been lurking for a few months but this is my first thread and first grow.

I've uploaded some pictures of what I'm working with and any advice as to the most efficient way to make use of the space would be helpful.

Attitude Seeds G13 Pineapple Express an
d California Kush

The room is 3'Dx6'Wx8'H

Veg: 6 plants under a 150w CFL on the left side of the space. Planning on Scrog method. Coco growing medium. Hand watered.

Flowering: Really fucking in the air...planning on getting a 400w HPS soon but really not sure what I'm going to do as far as a flowering setup for the amount of space I'm working with, was really hoping to get some input on this part. Not sure if a vented hood for the HPS would be worthwhile in this small enclosed space.

Nutes: Coco Canna 1-4-2 and Coco Canna 4-0-1

Ventilation: Installed a 4" AC vent in the room for intake. 5" exhaust vent with a 220CFM variable (25%-100%) PWM speed controlled fan in a sound insulated box. Home made carbon air filter using vent fittings, wire mesh and activated carbon air pre-filter material.

Monitoring: Temperature and humidity monitoring using inexpensive Maxim 1-wire sensors attached to a host that performs logging for historical reference, graphing and e-mail alerts. Future plans to add pH probes and light sensors to verify the lighting is operational.

Security: Stealth grow with hidden exhaust vent, carbon air filter, low noise output and no other external indications. IP video surveillance with remote storage and monitoring capability. Hidden RFID door lock with audit trail and electric deadbolt.

.....ok, really I'm too stoned to type it all out so here are some pictures. Thanks in advance for your help, I've wanted to do this for a long time and I'm crazy excited about my seeds coming in a few days. Also if anyone has grown
Pineapple Express before and can recommend a veg time that'd be great.

I know an HPS is going to be better, but as far as money and space goes this is what I have to work with for now. Any tips on how the light can be used most efficiently?

Patience my firend.

The most valueable thing you could ever have that doesn't cost you a dime for your grow is patience.

Hi, Howdy and Hello ladies and gentleman!!

So our Pineapple Express seeds finally arrived (thanks to Attitude seeds, awesome packaging) and we our happy to say that all 6 of our ladies have already germinated. We have some cool new additions. Check out the photos and any feedback again, is appreciated.

IMG_0314 and IMG_0316 show the sound insulated box for the Nidec VA450DC speed controlled fan. Expanding foam spray was used as sound dampening material. The duct enlarges 1" when entering the box. The 90 degree elbow is also 1" larger than the ducting. This was done to reduce air drag through the sound box and elbow.

IMG_0318 shows the veg light, table, tray and the pots containing the germinated seeds. You can see the black curtain pulled back in the upper left which was installed to help prevent light leakage around the door jamb. In the center foreground is the homemade carbon air filter, without the filter material installed.

In IMG_0319 you can see the finished fan box, painted and connected to the exhaust vent using insulated flexible duct and foil tape. The wire temperature sensor can be seen in the middle going half way up the wall.

IMG_0320 though 0322 show the sprouts we've seen so far.IMG_0314.jpgIMG_0316.JPGIMG_0318.JPGIMG_0319.JPGIMG_0320.JPGIMG_0321.JPGIMG_0322.JPG

Hey guys!

Brief update:

The plants are a week and a half old and have developed a few yellow spots on the edges of a couple of the leaves. It was first seen after switching from plain water to a 50% strength nutrient solution after about 1 week from sprouting. Aren't too worried as it hasn't spread, but at the same time if anyone can identify the problem that would be rad.

i think u nuted to soon.the plants arent really big enough for nutes, the soil should have enough nutes in it for the stage they r in.i nuted at 2 weeks but my plants were like quadruple the size of urs because of the hps.ur doing good though ust watch out on the nutes

So we realized that the problems we were having with some of the wilting on our flowers were pH problems, (go figure) and I think we've got that sorted out. Gobears4eva, you were definitely right about giving those babies nutes too soon...just got a little overzealous but I think we've tip toed quietly back to reality city. CoCo soil really saved our asses on this one.

You were also most definitely right about needing more than that CFL for vegging...I can't even imagine how long it would have taken if we hadn't sprung for an HPS light. We've got it hooked up and running and it's magic. Pics to be uploaded very soon.
